The red outline is the possible free area if they remove the flume and the small buildings out front. The Blue= Afterburn's footprint and the Green= NH's footprint. These are the current 2 largest coasters in the park and are still significantlly smaller than the possible new area, if its not a hyper, it could still be someting cool, like a domminator sized ride.

Well I couldn't get my image of the park to attach, but if you look on someone else's map, then you'll be able to see what I mean.

Ravine Flyer II at Waldameer begs to differ. Goliath at SFoG is also amazing looking from every angle. I think you might confusing a coaster that crosses a road or parking lot over one completely just 'plunked' down in a parking lot like Six Flags is famous for, Dominator at Kings Dominion also did this.

Last rides forever, or last rides of the season . . . I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Wouldn't it be crazy if we got a 150 ft tall Mega Splash to replace the log flume? Of course its not a hyper coaster, but it would be awsome with alot of theming and long layout!

The Good thing is that it is very unlikely that the next coaster Carowinds gets after Cobra will be something used and/or too boring. They have enough kids coasters, they got rid of a family coaster (Boo) and I don't see another one going in, and Geauga's rides are divvied up. Now, if Great America closes (I doubt it), then they really don't have anything that isn't comparable to what Carowinds has, so I don't see us getting anything in the unlikely event that that happens.

And with 2 B&M Hypers being added to the former ParaParks, and one B&M floorless being moved to a third, with plans for a GCI at Great America, I can see KD getting something along the lines of a wooden coaster (I don't see another beemer for at least a few cycles), and Carowinds getting a GCI or Beemer. Either way, I'm a happy boy.

^ The only thing about the 2 hypers is that I suspect that both were already in the works with Paramount, when the chain was bought.

The GCI's though, I'm not sure on.

at this point, realistically, I'd say 40% its a looping B&M/ GCI woodie, 20% its a B&M hyper, 10% it is some other addition, 30% nothing major (a couple of flats) for 2010, large addition for 2011.

just my .02

We'll see
