I am sorry I didn't get there to be honest. Actually, I did go to MB on Sept 18th with plans to go to HRP on Friday the 19th. Well guess what? That's the day the big announcement came that the park was closing for the season. Win some, lose some.

I do hope the park can find a buyer and that it will reopen for '09. Would any of you care to speculate? Would CF or SF indulge in such a purchase? I could see SF buying it, adding 4 new coasters (shades of Geauga Lake) and flipping it. But I really doubt that would happen.

In today's economic climate, I don't see it getting bought. I could be wrong, but there just isn't any credit flowing right now. I could almost see an auction sale happening for the rides and stuff that can be sold. Hmmm, a 200ft coaster in the place of Log Flume at Carowinds. LOL I am not sure there is alot of land to expand on there, and there isn't a whole lot of rides there at the present. With Myrtle Beach seemingly running off tourists at an alarming rate to satisfy the locals, there really isn't anything going for this park. At least I got out there this year. It wasn't a bad park, just not great either.

HRP doesn't have a 200 foot coaster. Their tallest coaster (Led Zeppelin - The Ride) is only 150 feet tall with a 120 foot tall loop.

I stand corrected....I could have sworn they built it up to 200 just under their cap(maybe their cap isn't 200ft) Oh well, never mind. We need something bigger at Carowinds. LOL
