General Carowinds discussion

Those are definitely NOT B&M seats for an invert or for any other type of coaster they make. And there is no way those pictures were taken at Carowinds. For one, the trains for the Cobra aren't even close to being finished. The majority of the hand grips to help you get in and out of the train are missing. All the seat backings are missing not to mention the OTSR are missing some key, and I do mean key components. And the wheel assemblies aren't even on the cars. Vekoma ain't IKEA; it's not a build-it-yourself coaster car that comes in a box. These pictures are most likely from one of Vekoma's train assembly facilities that specifically build the train cars for their rides, hence the orange seats with a configuration that does not fit any ride at Carowinds. If I were to take a guess at what type of seats those are, I'd say they look a lot like Big Air chairs stripped down with no padding on the headrest and obviously not sitting in the train housing.

Are you talking about the yellow cars pictured on the previous page? Those trains are on Carolina Cobra Construction Page. New pictures are up also of the coaster!

FSUNolez06: What is that supposed to show me? I have already seen those pictures. All I see on the main page is an album you can click on that says "the trains". Just because they show you pictures of the train does not mean that it HAS to be taken at the park. Please clarify if you are trying to make a point because simply a link tells me nothing. Some words with the URL would go a long way.

They don't look at all like SLC's to me, They look like Beemers.

one, they are in rows of four,

two, Ive worked at Afterburn, the seat configuration is exactly the same as Afterburn's sans the beam that connects the seat to the chassis,

three, I've considered the Vekoma 4 across, And they have the same OSTR as Cobra. This means that they have the padded vest, with the metal bars holding the vest down. Those seats in the background are not those style of OSTR.

They aren't B&M invert chairs... Check out this picture of Montu. http://www.rcdb.com/ig87.htm?picture=17 The seat design is completely different; if you study they two side by side for a few moments it becomes quite clear that those orange seats are not even close to being the same.

To me, the closest seat design they resemble is the Big Air chairs seen on this page. http://www.vekoma.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=28&Itemid=21 Imagine these seats not attached to the chassis, i.e. without the black and silver pieces on the back. The OTSR is the exact same, and is in the same location at the top of the headrest. The seats are 4 across in the middle sections of each car, while the first row and last row of each car are 2 across. Hell, it's practically the same friggin' color in the rendering as in the shop!

I will eat my words if when the season starts the trains on Afterburn are orange.

It used to say, "The Trains Arrive" implying that they are at Carowinds. Now, it just says, "The Trains".
