Has Carowinds ever done a Grad Nite? I was reading about how Disney and some Six Flags parks do these and I think it'd be awesome if Carowinds were to have one, although not sure what a Grad Nite at Carowinds would entail. Concert, ERT, Food, etc.?

Carowinds did a Grad Night for years back in the 90's I attended a grad night which was alot of fun and they did have some concerts i believe and the park was open till 2am or 4am. I can't remeber. It was so long ago.

I attended a Carowinds graduation/ lock-in type of thing back in '89, I forget what it was called, Project Graduation or something silly. After our grad ceremony, we were herded onto buses and into the park around midnight, a few minutes before they shut down the rides, which was pointless. 38 Special played the Paladium. I am not old.

The novelty began to wear off around 1AM. No rides in operation - there was nothing to do. I remember dosing off in one of the theaters watching the movie Big, counting down the hours until dawn when we were to be released. It was that unexciting.

It was one of those events that sounded like a good idea at the time, but was a huge failure in execution. From what I can remember. Hope it's better now, if they still do that sort of thing.

I went to Project Graduation '90. I saw Expose in concert.

Hmmm...that must have been their last concert.

I think they stopped them about 95 because they were such flops. I can remember everything being a walk on at the park.

The Gauntlet was new that year I think, it's now that Rocketpower Airtime or whatever it's called. The show got canceled that it was themed after. lol

I remember it...I loved that show. A lot of the Nick shows that the rides are themed off of got canceled. I mean, Wild Thornberries got canceled a LONG time ago. They haven't even played repeats in years. My little cousin who's 9 used to ask me what that show was, lol.

Rocket power was a cool show and was on for 4 or 5 years, but a cartoon can only go on for so long, the thornbarries wasn't that great.
