They're calling for rain on Friday too (media day).

But they could be wrong, which they are a lot of the times a week out.

If it's just rain, are they still gonna run rides? Last year, I went to Scarowinds on a Friday night in the pouring rain. Not sure if any rides were running as I'm usually only interested in mazes at Scarowinds, but I know all the mazes were running.

Most of the rides run in the rain. The park makes the coasters go down to one train and Ricochet does not run, but everything else keeps going as though the sun were shining.

Unless there is lightning in the area. In which case, everything shuts down.

You know a boomerang will look for any excuse to valley; rain, wind, fog, night time, opening day, when the park is sold out, when you really, really want to ride it and are next in line, when you really need to use the bathroom and can't wait till the train gets back to the station............

Don't say that! I'm riding the thing on Friday!

Wouldn't it be funny if the media comes out there and the thing is stuck in the cobra roll.

Wes, you may get to exit the coaster via scaffolding and see the emergency procedures first hand!

And then the media will ask you what it was like to almost die on the Giant, Scary, One of a Kind Roller Coaster. LOL :D

I love it!

I'll get to play Paul Ruebens and be all "Carolina Cobra is the most exciting roller coaster I've ever half ridden in my life time!!!".

Dani will be sitting there going, "oh no".

Course if you actually know me, I'm actually more comfortable behind the camera, than in front of it. I'm not like Jarvis.

Someone has to actually be lucky enough to test the evacuation procedures!

'One of a kind rollercoaster"???????

This puppy got so many litter mates, they should have named it the Carolina Octo coaster.

Updated weather for Saturday. Thundery rain in the p.m. I guess I'm fine if I avoid the thundery rain, that doesn't sound fun. Otherwise cloudy. Clouds never hurt anybody.

And there's always Sunday, when it's Partly sunny and breezy.

Good luck tomorrow Wes. Live to tell the tale.

The hourly forecast is calling for showers in the morning with strong thunderstorms starting around 1-2 pm, with the possibility of hail and high winds...so I think I'm gonna skip opening day (since I doubt they'll be much of one), and just go on Sunday.
