Ever since the yellow and red track appeared at the B&M factory, I and others have been taking mental stock of Carowinds' inventory of red and yellow coasters. It is highly unlikely that Cedar Fair would have spent the money to paint Nighthawk yellow, and then order up a brand new yellow B&M to sit across from it. If the red track is coming to us, Vortex being the only existing red steel in the park wouldn't be an issue since it is due for a paint job anyway, and if not, it wouldn't be worst thing in the world to let it stay as is for a while since these two coasters wouldn't necessarily compete.
If the NASCAR rumor is true, then the red track is more likely, and along with some black and white, would look more like this thing:
Which is why I found myself shooting yellow and red at the park Saturday to share. Other than that, I was just being an idiot. I have to find maximum entertainment value for that pass somehow.
