Does anyone else agree something needs to be done there? There is a bunch of ugly, unattractive and unused space. There is the fountain, the old closed down vortex photo shop, useless games, and the trees/circular grass area. Close to that we have a never-busy pizza place and the Kaleidoscope. I think this is a great area for a nice flat. Even a top-spin, someting. But it looks really bad there and just out of place. Suggestions? And do you think CF has noticed this or it will just stay as is?

Lol they looked useless to me when I went two weeks ago. No one on that side of the park plays. They would be fine with the games by the Hurler, In front of Whitewater Falls and In county fair. Id rather have a ride. The space is there for sure.

The whole area around hurler needs help. I wish they would get rid of the xtreme flyer ( i am just agianst having to pay extra for rides after paying to get in the park ) and put in something like Max Air. Every time i am in the back of the park it is dead. Maybe over near vortex they could put in something like Crypt from KD. Hell just build a path and put it under vortex in the grassy area. It would be cool to wait in line and have a coaster zipping by you.

Yeah thats pretty much what I mean, that whole side was very POORLY planned. You sit the Hurler there and CUT OFF a bunch of land you could use to build things and then give it a long arse and have it sticking way back when they could have built a more compact but still long coaster. Then there is the Huge space for the skyflyer, which has really lost its appeal. Jukebox needs to be converted to a dine-in restaurant with the removal of Casey's Grill. The games, the useless things in front of the vortex, maybe even the rock shop and skyflyer need to go. The flyers and the Kaleidoscope need to switch places.

I've always thought the "Thrill Zone" section was always the least thrilling. Its like walking into a depressing ghost town with a roller coaster. Expand the park and take out the usless attractions, games, and shops and put in things that people actually want!

Same thing with the go-carts. gotta pay for those to. They could have put something else there like some elcheapo fair rides, gravatron, etc. would have been cheap and draw some people to the back.

Thrill zone should be renamed to Sleepy Zone!

The sad thing is, after this new coaster debuts next year, they will have to take something out each time they want to build something new, the question is what will go? I think whitewater falls needs to be upgraded to an Escape From Pompeii style ride.

^That really is not true. The entire property that Carowinds owns is something like 325 acres. The park itself isn't even half of that at 112 acres, then the parking lots which I would guess to be in the 70 acre range, and the campgrounds/additional used property maybe in the 30 to 50 acre range. That leaves an additional 80 acres or so of unused land. If they really wanted to expand the existing park they could. All of that land bounded by the park, Plaza Fiesta, and 77 is owned by Carowinds.

I doubt it tho. Imagine how off balance the park map would be. Not that that matters lol but I used to work there and that stuff thats in the back area is not going to be moved, and its about 20-30 feet down an incline bc there are steps going down. Not to mention they would have to remove sooo many things on that side of the park just to access it.

The Skyflyer and the go karts were put in by Paramount and actually attract some idiots that will actually spend money on them. Makes them money! When I was in KI a few years ago (right after CF took over) and they were begging people to ride them (and making them really cheap) to a point that both the guys I was with went on it. I haven't been to Carowinds in a while but I figure that is what they are doing since they own the stuff its pure profit. No chance of them moving them anytime soon. Its not what we want, its what makes them money.
