Carowinds can keep the skyflyer and go karts if they extend the use of land around the park. If there not going to utilize the empty land, then the skyflyer and karts need to go!

I'm not sure how much traffic and business the skyflyer gets during the year. I know I NEVER go back there when at the park, and WILL NOT go to carowinds to ride go karts. I do know that during Halloween when you have people going back to that area for a reason(haunt house) that the skyflyer do get a good bit of business. But it is seen and some idiots, err, brave people want to show off in front of their friends.
Maybe Carowinds should have put them in a place where there is some taffic, and not in a corner of the park, at least not the corner of a dead section of the park. Can't blame that on CF though.

I know right now that the two rides took out this off season have not sold which is pretty bad because I think the money is going to the new coaster in 2010 or 2011. And for all the woods area you could make that a parking lot and extend the park out and carowinds if they get gready they could by out the railroad company or buy out jon deer for there land.

A little off topic here...

What is the point of the seats on Vortex? Is it any less safer if they just flat out removed that "seat"? I don't even sit on it myself, so I can't see what the safety in it is.

I never thought about that but I see your point. Its awkward and makes your back bend and is not cool at all. I can see why standups don't get built anymore, its my least favorite coaster there but I still ride it just to ride it.

Vortex is not a great ride and I'm pretty sure the owners know it. In the coming years when we want to get more rides, Vortex may be next on the list for removal. After all, it may be cheaper to sell a ride to another park instead of buying more land.

While I agree it's not the best ride, it still always has a big line. I doubt it's going anywhere.

That bicycle style seat is definitely there to keep people from either purposely or accidentally sliding out of the harness. If you want to fix the problem when riding Vortex, instead of standing straight up in the station bend your knees just a tiny, tiny bit, then when they lock the train, stand back up straight and you are no longer hugging that seat. Also, right after the loop when you go over the hill pick your feet up and you get a little bit of airtime going over that turn.

I've been doing this forever. Don't tell me you guys actually "sit" or allow that part to actually hug your privates during the ride?? No wonder you guys feel so much pain.
I don't hate the ride, not my favorite either. If the line is short, I'll ride it. But I can pass it just as easily.
