Personally I feel that some people are spoiled. Im not just talking about the folks on this site its just in general. It's a gift from the park to show construction photos. Granted it has been like 2 weeks but some folks act as if they have stock in the construction updates!! Besides you know exactly how the coaster is gonna look anyway so whats the big deal?? Like i said in other post........i would rather be shocked and amazed than to know everything head on. It wouldnt bother me if the park didnt do anymore updates on the coaster but im sure the ones of you who revolve your lives around the updates will probably go into cardiac arrest or something.

Im back..............

Post No.99..................countdown to 100th NON-POINTLESS post!!

Coasterbruh is correct. The park owes us absolutely nothing, and doesn't even have to recognize we exist if they don't want to. The fact that they are sending out construction photos to begin with should make everyone happy.

OMG you guys take a statement way to far. I made a simple statement and you turned it into something you think i constantly complain about. Besides how hard is it to take a simple picture. The park doesnt owe us anything huh what do you think we pay for when we enter a park? All that money is not worth it. Most of it goes toward future rides and attractions.

What I can not stand is someone who thinks the park owes them something. Are you trying to tell us because you pay to enter the park that someone should just stop what they are doing and go take you some pictures of what is going on? I bet there is someone running toward the coaster now with a camera saying, " I need to take some pictures for this guy on Carowinds Connection since we owe him that." That has to be one of the funniest things I have read this weekend.

First of all I think i can speak for Jonathan and myself when i say that no one was making personal attacks.......so some of you took it as a personal attack yourselves.......humm, must feel guilty. Second of all how hard is it to take a picture, very easy. However when your running a park and have deadlines to meet and things to accomplish, updating a site w/ pictures of a like i said earlier a coaster that people already know what its going to look like is something they can put on the back burner.

Heck they didnt even have to announce the coaster at all, but some people feel the park owes them something. Just because someone pays some odd dollar amount doesnt mean they park is obligated to them cause if they wont pay it im sure someone else will. Thirdly if the money isnt worth it then why go waste your time by going and complaining!! Carowinds is a free-will park. No one is forced to attend so people go because they want to!! So folks dont complain about something you have full control over.

For those of you who just dieing to see the finish coaster just go here.

Yet again, this is not a personal attack on anyone. Its just a general statement geared to anyone this post is compatible with.

WHOO HOO my 100th Post!!!! and im still going strong!! ;)

I have to take exception to "all that money is not worth it". I buy a season pass at the end of the previous season, and it's never been more than $100 for a gold pass w/ free parking - last year it was $65 I think for the pass and they threw in free parking.

For $70-100 I get to go to the park every weekend for about 7 months at NO additional cost - none. I'd guess I go at least 25 times a year, probably closer to 35-40. That means it costs me about $3 a visit or less - which is less than a movie ticket. For that $3 I get to ride several million dollars worth of rollercoasters, one of which (Top Gun of course) is one of the best in the country, at least of the ones I've ridden in Florida, Georgia, Ohio and Virginia. We get a free waterpark in the summer and ERT every day on Top Gun. I also get into PKD with my pass every year, and got to also use it at PKI last year as well.

Sure, I spend more than the cost of the season pass, as sometimes I buy an overpriced soda or ice cream, and every so often a meal. And of course I buy some t-shirts, and will have to get one or two for Borg. And I have to pay for Scarowinds, which I'm not happy about, but I certainly can't complain too much - they have some decent haunted houses and quite a few rides open. Still though the money I spend on Carowinds is easily the best entertainment value for me all year - by a large margin.

I'm not saying I wouldn't mind seeing an update or two on Borg - I think we all would - but to say the park owes us that to make paying for our admission "worth it" is pretty ludicrous. That isn't meant to slam anyone, just to provide some perspective.

The last to post sound more like a normal post. I never sayed the park owes us. I just think that it is funny how they can give us updates every 10 days or so and all of a sudden they cut us off. That is like giveing a kid a piece of cake then takeing it away from him at the last few bites.

I think the park wants all the theming to be a suprise, so people have a reason to go on the first day of operation and see it.

I'm almost wondering if they are wanting to keep the theming a surprise. While I'm curious as to what it's going to look like, I almost wouldn't mind being "clueless" until opening day - and being surprised by what's there.

Far too often I know everything about a ride before I ride it, reading all over the 'net for stats and pics and trip reports before I hit a park - it might be nice for a change to not know too much. Of course we all know quite a bit about this since it's an "old" ride, but hopefully the theming will be impressive and it'll be a better ride than when it was Stealth.

Do you not realize Carowinds is a business. They have things to take care of that might take precedence over an update that can wait a few days. Did you not see where I said that the park sent a rep to EastCoaster this weekend and that he was the one doing the updates? He's been busy with things at the park. Yes he knows that he's overdue on an update but I can verify that he's got a lot on his plate at the moment. So, give the guy some slack okay.

You know in this day and age of the internet some people are so spoiled. They want it now. I remember the year they announced the Carolina Cyclone. All we got was a drawing in the paper and a small article accompaning it. We didn't get no construction updates back then. We were there on opening day to see it and we were amazed. People should be thankful that we have a park that is willing to put up photos of the coaster.

I remember when I was doing the construction page for Top Gun. If I didn't have a regular update, I'd get emails asking where they were and some had a hostile tone to them. You know I had to drive 45 minutes over there to take the pics and I did it on my own time. Yes there were some grateful people but there were some you know whats too.

Have you even emailed the park to thank them for the updates?

Well I was ok with not getting updates about Top Gun for 2 reasons:

1, I wasn't obsessed with coasters then.
2, They had that Kiosk out in front of the Country Kitchen with an animated on-ride video of the ride and a guy standing out there on saturdays (busiest times) anwsering questions about the coaster.

I think it would be fair to give us a update every now and then. But on the other hand i would like the themeing to be a surprise.

Although the park clearly owes us nothing. Boy that's been pointed out enough!
It would be neat if they had done something similar to Hershey Park(on StormRunner). They've got a couple of movies with the enitre layout of the coaster. The first movie gives you the riders view. The second movie gives you the view from the ground. They also have the construction pics.
