FINALLY got to ride the flyers, the line was basically a single line, a few people around the first turn. Those things are awesome! I got it sideways, good air, and a free fall that landed good when the cables caught....no I wasn't doing the Petty Driving School. I will certainly hit those up again. When I figure out what I am doing, I could be dangerous.

I rode them on suday, and the guy running them made it into a pretty fun game, announcing who was getting their's to "fly the highest" or what we call ( snapping) and there is actually some pretty good competion.

I think they should make it into oine of the events for Coaster Stock!!, like the scobbie do shootout( which seems to ahve a lot of broken guns, i hope they fix them before Coaster Stock)

We must have been around there about the same time. Are you talking about the guy that didn't seem to be in much of a hurry? He did make it into a fun game, he switched out when I got on and the chick running them just made the people scream when she called out the color of your tub.

Every time I've been out there, it's the same black guy and he always sings stuff like The Love Boat and all these other songs and such and is always saying "Flyer 6 is doing really great! See if you can beat him!".

He's one of the best operators Carowinds has ever had IMHO. He actually enjoys his job it seems and makes riding fun.

LOL, that is funny. He wasn't around when I rode, some lanky white guy. There are some operators out there that try to make it fun for the kids. One on the kiddie swings was playing Simon Sez a couple weeks ago.

I agree about the employees! When we walk through Nick Central all we here are people screaming on every ride.

I've seen the guy at flyers, too. I think his name is Anthony. He does a phenomenal job every day! And it doesn't matter where he is working, he always has an appropriate song to sing.

I think the operators have definitely ramped up on getting the guests involved. I like the new improvements.

yes, thats the guy I had but he wasn't singing, just announcing who was going highest. And your right about the screamming, when I rode rocket power on sunday the guy with no emotiion just sat there and said " scream.....scream louder....) it was pretty anoying, but i gess thats what i get for going to the nick area.

There could be two things at play there: Cedar Fair's employee training and policies, and the economy allowing the park to be much more selective about who they hire.

I'm sure maintenance would loooove that.

And why do you think we've never had Phyler ERT at C3 since...

^ We did, one year.

I ran into Dani today and she said that she thinks they extended the cables on the flyers. Which it looks like she's right, but I don't pay too much attention to cable length.

All I know is they are snapping as good, if not better than ever.

She said they had to replace a gear box or something on it.
