General Carowinds discussion

If the park is getting what I think they are getting, then honestly all I'd like to see in the next 5 years is some general improvements and maybe about 3 new flat rides, which the park is lacking in IMHO.

From what I'm seeing they are spending a lot of money on the park, and I really can't complain too much. I'm especially glad the woodies are running good again, and Hurler is running great at least in the front.

The two sections of the park in my opinion that need more stuff are Thrill Zone and County Fair. Both could use a flat ride or two.

Let's see, Wild Bull would look good in County Fair. Some of these other thrilling flat rides I see at other parks. Something else besides Spongebob in the 3D Theater.
I can see some updates to the water park coming maybe next year or the year after as well. They really should put money into that area of the park. I've been a couple of times on Sunday's, and that area is packed, while the coasters are walk on's(except for Borghawk, which is never a walk on, and Cobra which is a 1 train operation).

Over the next couple years you ask?
I would love to see the log flume reconstructed elsewhere in the park. They are great rides for families and children that are just getting the courage to ride the bigger stuff.

Since I have not witnessed, other than photos, the flume being disassembled, I am curious to know whether it was taken apart gently or with intentions of scrapping. Anyone seen evidence to either scenario?

being optimistic here nut, maybe the rip out the wooden supports like that since, well, they can very easily be replaced. Its like if they decided to reconstruct the terrain maynot be the same therefore would need different supports. If it was the actual flume down on the ground like that it would be a different story lol...

I would like to see a new show (stage area) to take the place of mini golf.

Maybe an S&S Screaming Swing or a HUSS Topspin in between Cyclone & the Drop Tower area. Either one would be fine for me.

A Chancemorgan wipeout would be nice also.
I would like for the park to replace the yoyo with real swings like the (zierer wave swinger)

Yes we used to have a Zierer Wave Swinger but it was removed after the 2000 season and sent to California's Great America as the Celebration Swings. Since the closure of Geauga Lake, we got their used Chance Yo-Yo.

I'm glad we got the Yo-Yo, as it has livened up the County Fair area some, but the look and feel of the Wave Swingers are so much better... :?

Back on topic.. I would like to see the repainting of Cyclone which is currently like a combination of 4 different colors, none of which look good. Afterburn could also use some paint, as it is having some rust problems on the track and a lot of the paint on some of the supports is chipping.

Also I know this will never happen but can we take out some games or something..? I hate walking through the Boardwalk area being shouted at by like 5 different people.. (though it is quite accurate from my time spent on the Jersey Boardwalks..)

I, too, would love to see an S&S Screaming Swing. There aren't many new flat rides that appeal to me because a lot of them make me pretty queasy, but those Screaming Swings are just an absolute blast. I rode the ones at Valleyfair and Kennywood, and they were both great.

As I stated in another thread, I would like Cyclone to get some new trains and refurbishment love.

As for rides, a few more flats like a Giant Wheel, Top Spin, Delerium, Tea Cups or a Music Express.

Since they literally lost 2 water rides this year, I would hope they could come up with a new type of high capacity water ride/watercoaster.

Of course waterpark additions, new shows, restaurants and other infrastructure improvements are welcomed.

In the Vortex (Showplace area)where that fountain is, they need to add one of those interactive water element attractions that squirt water from the several little holes in the ground. I think it's called a spray ground. I belive Cedar Point added one of those this year.

But I can settle for a better looking fountain instead of the current one the park has.
When walking by it, it's like you see a geyser with a fence around it. Looks kind of tacky for the area.
