From Eastcoaser - All of the Paramount Parks are going to have their Paramount Theaters completely renovated with state of the art equipment and seating. The movie magic show will be an interactive show about movie making in which guests can act out different roles from several Paramount movies. Also, all the parks are going to have a Nickelodeon character parade with performers, characters, and large floats.

It's about time! The Paramount Theater has been sitting vacant for 2 or 3 seasons now.

:) Cool, I'm happy that Paramount is going to do something with their abandoned Theatres. It kills me when a park abandons an attraction or area and does nothing with it.

Well, the parades will bring good things and some bad things to the park, but I feel that they're a welcome addition.

This is great news. I already knew about the Parade but transforming the Theaters into an interactive arena is a great idea.
What is wrong with Carowinds going Disney? I for one voted on my survey to make the park into a movie studio theme. This new Theater and the fact that they are Themeing Borg is a great step in that direction. I for one will definantly partake in the Theater as that is one attraction I have missed over the years. Sure, it won't be the "Carowinds" style show but I think it will bring in alot of guests and be worth it. This transformation to me is alot better than tearing it down and helps keep some of the original things that makes Carowinds Carowinds.

Paramount's Great America released info about the new shows coming to all the parks...

NEW Nickelodeon® Characters —More of kids' favorite television celebrities will greet their friends daily at Paramount's Great America in 2004. Little Bill™ and The Fairly Odd Parents'™ Cosmo and Wanda join the rest of their Nickelodeon friends at the park.

Paramount's Magic of the Movies —Go "behind the scenes" in this live stage performance and learn what it takes to create a movie! Audience members will have a chance to be a part of the action and assist with special effects in the making of their very own movie. (Presented June 19 —Oct. 24)

Nickelodeon™ Celebration Parade —All of your Nickelodeon cartoon friends are joined by a cast of dancers and performers for a 30-minute parade spectacular in Hollywood Plaza. Wave to all of your friends including SpongeBob SquarePants™ and Dora the Explorer™ as they ride by on colorful floats. (Presented once daily).

Also, they slightly altered their waterpark name. It is now Crocodile Dundee's Boomerang Bay, obviously named after the Paramount movie, Crocodile Dundee.

If carowinds wants to go Disney, they need to keep the park cleaner. The number one thing people like about Disney World is it's clean.

I would hate Carowinds if It went completely disney because I HATE VEKOMAS!

Thats right, I'm talking about the Rockin Roller Coaster and the future Expedition Everest. Why can't they just get a B&M! Then I might actually go there instead of IOA.

I am wondering if Disney is biased towards B&M because they seem to refuse to get them. Disney has Schwarzkoph, Vekoma and Intamin rides but B&M is suspiciously absent from that list. I have the general feeling that Disney likes to get a really cheap ride and then pour more money in themeing it than the ride is worth. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Cephas I would have to agree with you. If you took all thier rides and just sat them down in a parking lot they would not be nearly as much fun, nor would I want to go there often. Eye-Candy is what Disney is great for. It is for that reason I like going to Disney, not for the shear speed and thrill of the ride itself, but rather for the pleasure to the eyes and ears.
That is why I think what they are doing, or at least say they are doing, to our new Borg will make it a much better ride than Stealth ever thought of being. Good visualations and close calls takes a ride up a notch in my book.

You know....I've never really seen Carowinds that dirty before. Last year they seemed to be making an effort to keep the park clean. I saw people stationed at the restrooms to make sure they stayed in good shape.

I'm sure if Disney wanted to work with B&M, they would. They seem to keep a relationship with the companies that they've worked with before. Not every coaster has to be a B&M. Not every Vekoma is evil. Have you been on RnR at MGM? I haven't but I've heard some good things about it. I don't care for the SLCs but I'll ride them. The worst one I've been on is T2. The best one, believe it or not, is at SFA, of all places. Now, boomerangs, I don't care for at all. To think some people wants one of those at Carowinds! Please. Deja Vu...now its a lot of fun. Easily one of my favourites at SFOG. Shock I know.

I swear some enthusiasts are so spoiled and close minded.

Deja Vu is awesome. I wish we could get one at carowinds.

Rockin Roller Coaster is ok. I give it a six out of 10 (Kumba being a 10) the ride itself isn't that cool. It's kinda rough and they blast really loud music (Aerosmith of course) into your ears through the ride out of these speakers in the seat. I almost went death after that ride and I had a headache because my head had gotten banged up so much. Now, TOT was a lot more fun. Oh, and Test Track was cool too. I might actually go back for Expedition Everest as the concept art shows no over-the-shoulder restraints. The only good part about RnRC was the themed trains, the story line, and the theming in the Quene. Oh, it was also cool during the ride because they had black lights in there and all these signs glowing as you went past them. The Premeir rides equavalent (Poltergeist SFFT) is alot better (smoother). Although RnRC had a really cool intense launch (Better than the Premeir one). I do not want carowinds to get a clone of the RnRC!

If you are going to Disney's MGM studios just for the Rockin Roller Coaster, then you can pass. Go to IOA instead. It has the same great themeing but even better coasters. Even if you are too chicken to ride, walk through the Dueling Dragons quene to see the themeing. It is awesome. Oh, and just to start an arguement, Ice is Better.

As you can see. My grammar sucks.

Vekoma has it's good and bad points.

I personally like RnRC, I just think it can be a little rough. The effects are cool, and the on-board sound system is neat as well.

Another cool Vekoma indoor coaster was Chaos at Opryland USA. The ride itself was not much, but the original effects in '89 were awesome. Unfortunatly, it, and that entire park, are just a fond memory now.

Good:
Deja Vu(s)
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad(s)
Rock N' Roller Coaster
Chaos (RIP) Evan though the ride was not that much, it was smooth!
I've also heard good things about Space Mountain at Euro Disneyland Paris.

Bad:
Deja Vu(s)-for under-engineered equipment
Any SLC (Hang N' Bang!)
Boomerangs are rough
Sit Down Loopers-The Ninjas
The Runaway Reptars
