(Yes this is a mall trip report)
On my visit to Carowinds last Saturday I realized I hadn't been to the new mall since the 'retheme' so I walked over to check it out.
For those that remember the old Crossroads Mall was a pretty run down, always completely empty, just kind of depressing place to be. I remember everyone wanting Carowinds to buy it and just put it out of its misery. Through the magic of the internets I found some pictures on a blog.

The blog has a few more pics so I will quickly plug it here: http://livemalls.blogspot.com/2006/12/crossroads-mall-fort-mill-south.html
So back to my visit Saturday..
Sign looking nice.

I remember I was shocked the first time I went to Carowinds and saw the entire thing painted red. As you can see its also PACKED.

Here is the mall directory, you can click on this one for a higher resolution.

This is the new food court area.

Other random hallway themeing.

A MASSIVE playground takes the space of a lot of the old food court tables and chairs.

They also have a new arcade with lots of games.

This one caught my eye as it is like the Action F/X Theater but for two people.

The anchors are still there in different capacities, but the rest of the mall has these TINY little stores that sell all kind of different things. There are hundreds of them all throughout the mall.

More stores.

They also have some really good murals to add to the entire Latin theme.

I would like to know what city this is supposed to be.

Uhhh k?

Ten percent discount to park employees and season pass holders.. note it doesnt specifically mention Carowinds though.

Moving outside a Merry-go-round can be seen. I was browsing some pics on the official site and this area was a small ice skating rink in the Winter.

They even have.. HELICOPTER RIDES ..just right outside the mall.

Quick plug for the helicopters.

Obviously its not Concord Mills or anything but I'm glad to have something else worthwhile near the park instead of the old empty mall. I wish I had taken more pics but its kind of creepy to be walking around a very crowded mall taking pictures.
Here is the official site: http://www.plazafiestacarolinas.com/site/ they have a lot more pictures of various things. I didn't have any cash on me luckily, I could see myself spending quite a bit in there. I will definitely be back on my next visit to try out the helicopters, but that won't be until July 12th so someone still has time to get the EXCLUSIVE shots first.
