Hi everyone! My daughter (age 7) and I went to the Boomerang Bay waterpark yesterday. We had a wonderful time! The weather was perfect and it wasn't packed out with wall to wall people.

We arrived at the waterpark at 10:45 and got chairs in front of the Great Barrier Reef wave pool.

We played in there for about an hour then decided to walk around. I was debating on whether to bring my son, who is 4 1/2 and loves to run crazy, so we checked out the other sections of the park for younger children. I was so impressed with the Jackaroo Landing area and the Platypus Plunge mini-waterslide. The area is fenced in and lifeguards are everywhere. I think he would really enjoy it plus I wouldn't spend all my time running and chasing after him. A large, crowded waterpark would be a nightmare with him so at least I could keep him in one fenced in spot here.

Anna and I rode the Crocodile Run lazy river twice, there was hardly any wait time for this. Again, lifeguards were at every turn. After that, we walked over to the Bondi Beach wave pool, which is similar to the Great Barrier Reef one.

Unfortunately, we didn't ride any of the waterslides since Anna did not want to and is scared of heights. That will have to wait for another time.

We ate lunch at Carolina Corn Dogs then walked around the park. We rode the Sky Tower (to get some Dirt Porn shots) then a few rides in the Nick Jr. area. We left about 2:45.

SPOILER ALERT: All Nickolodeon merchandise is 50% off in the stores. Maybe they really are going to retheme the park and are getting rid of the Nick brand? Or it could be a July 4th special only. Stay tuned.

As far as crowds, the park was kind of crowded, but I'm comparing it to when we went to Disney last year, which was packed out. There were lots of day camps and churches there yesterday.

Overall, I was very impressed with the water park. I can see why it is so popular. Chairs were always available, there were plenty of life jackets to use, and all those lifeguards made me feel safe especially since I would be taking my kids with me. The lifeguards were keeping close tabs on everyone and not just sitting in their chairs and posing, twirling their whistles around. The wait time for rides was very short, at least the ones we went on. I can't wait to go back!
