Nothing's "wrong" with one, but honestly there isn't that much right with one either - especially for Carowinds.

My thinking here - on RCDB they have a ranking of parks by number of inversions in the park. Of all the parks in the world, Carowinds ranks third. That's right, you can go upside down more times at Carowinds than everywhere except Six Flags Magic Mountain and SF Great Adventure. And this is counting Nighthawk properly, not the "8 inversions" the park has used for marketing in the past. The point is, Carowinds really doesn't need another looping coaster, as they have 5 already.

What the park doesn't have is a coaster significantly over 100 feet tall. The only ride with a really long ride time is Thunder Road, so there's a need for a steel coaster with some length to it. Even TG / Afterburn is a bit on the short side.

AFTER a hyper, I wouldn't mind a floorless, although I think more pressing needs would be a launcher of some sort, and a good, modern woodie. If they add another Beemer, I'd prefer a dive machine to a floorless.

Oops, forgot to weigh in on this one.

What would I prefer? Hmmmm. Ummmmm. Tch tch tch tch. Phew! This is a tough one. Uhhhhhh, I'm thinking about it, I'm thinking about it... don't rush me! What would I prefer, what would I prefer. This is hard - I'm not very good at making decisions.

Urrr, uhhh, ummm, hmmm. Yikes! I don't know. Well, see... I think..... maybe if... but then... but also... if only... but that could never... but then again... I, I got nothing. I feel tremendous pressure to get this one right; I really want to win that car.

Somebody stop that tick tock noise. I can't think. Grrrrr. OHHHHH! Ooh, I know! I know exactly what I'd prefer. Nahhh, they'd never do that.

I'll get back to you in a few months.

For me personally, a floorless is a ride I hit once if I am at the park. A hyper is a ride I travel specifically to ride. Not to mention that I think floorless coasters just do everything the B&M inverteds do except not as good, and we already have Afterburn.

Once our new B & M Megacoaster arrives, I would like to see a new, modern woodie! Last week, I had the priviledge of visiting Great Adventure and riding El Toro several times. Often, at age 47, I'm not a fan of wood coasters, but this one was absolutely GREAT, well beyond expectations for sure. Wow! It was worth visiting the park just to ride that coaster... will have to visit Holiday World next year to see if theirs are any better. Did Fahrenheit at HP as well... but no great shakes on that one... Maverick was a whole lot better... maybe one of those sleek Intamin steel coasters to cap off the next three years would make an interesting trio...

Sure it would be cool, but not what the park needs right now

Here is what I want in the coming years:

2010- B&M Hyper
2011- A GOOD flat ride, Giant Frisbee or Screamin' Swing, Hurler rehab start?
2012- A water ride, I know would ask me why do that when there is water park well I dont care because I dont like the waterpark, or if that does not happen do a water park expansion with some nice slides.
2013- Take out the hurler, if a rehab has not started yet, and put in a GCI, Gravity Group, Intamin Woodie.

^Switch the plans for 2012 and 2013 and that would be exactly what I would want too, leaning more towards the Intamin Woodie, seeing as they are incredible coasters and we have nothing Intamin in the park except the Drop Tower. But, maybe they could find more room along the back for it and not take out Hurler. I am one of those rare people who actually like Hurler... It's the only ride in the park with almost decent airtime.

Another thing for 2010: If this B&M hyper is red, maybe the park will repaint Vortex black or green. Although maybe not, we have two yellow Vekomas sitting right next to each other, so whats wrong with two red B&M's? :|

Thank you for showing me the error of a floorless coaster.

Btw, I can't believe carowinds has more inversions than CP or KD considering there size compared to carowinds.
