This is my first post outside of the 2010 construction area. Forgive me if this exact topic has been brought up before as I did not go through ever single post to check and I just breezed through them to see. I would like to see the Cyclone get a paint job and rehab for the 2010 30th anniversary year. Not just a paint job but new trains (ala Vekoma/Cobra) would be great to help smooth out this painful coaster. I love that the park has the coaster and I hope it is never removed but I am not a fan of riding it. The new cars would be great as they made the painful ride of a Vekoma Boomerang into a fun and smooth ride. I know this likely would not happen (other than maybe a paint job) due to the great expense of the new coaster but it would be nice though.

Didnt they just paint it not to long ago.... or maybe it was long ago. I like the trains on the cobra but you have to put your feet at a weird angle.... at least I do thats the only thing I dont like about them. I think those trains would be great for cyclone or even if they just went to the restraints that move like cobra and kept the trains that would work to. I dont think this would happen though. Mayeb we can make some suggestions at coasterstock..

There ya go. New trains would be the best but 'Cobra like' restraints and a new paint job would be a winner also.

I agree, Cyclone is not rough nor painful. It is fun and brings back memories as it was my first looper. A new paint job would be nice (as long as they don't change the colors to some crap, i.e. Nighthawk), but I think they should keep the trains and restraints they have now.

Cyclone was my 2nd loop coaster. White lightning being the first. For those not old enough to remember when coasters did not have loops...Lightning was a real ground breaker (for those of us around the Carolinas anyway!) Add to it the fact they had so much trouble getting it to work right at first....really added to the excitement! The launch was the best part...too bad it went away.
Cyclone is the first loop coaster my kids ever went on...started them on a life long coaster hunt!

I would like to see a lighter paint job on it to go with the carolina boardwalk theme...

I must be just getting old or something, LOL. I love the coaster, the history, the layout with the park and hope it is around for many years but I am not a fan of riding it. I guess, now that I think of it, the only part of the ride that I am not a fan of as far as being jerky and rough are the corkscrews. OK, so it is not that bad, you guys have warmed me up to it and I will actually ride it when I return and not skip it over. I do remember, when I was 12, in 1980, I was a bit tense riding it for the first time and when I woke up the next morning, I could not move my neck and needed help getting out of bed. I was a big deal for sure back then with 4 inversions.
