Yea I'm on TPR and KDF as well.

I thought 400 plus were tera coasters and that 500+ were stata...

It's the worst kept secret that Carowinds is getting a B&M hyper.

You MIGHT know what it is & from whom but unlike what happened with Diamondback the little details remain underwraps. So the cat hasn't been let outta the bag just yet & that's what counts the most. Besides don't count out the new 4-abreast mega trains from Vekoma because their site does mention projects coming in 2010 that will be using the new seating configuration.

Mega and Hyper are the same thing.

Only in the mindset of "enthusiasts" whom butcher the English language regularly. Far as "I" am concerned hyper (prefix defined as "high, beyond, excessive, above normal") can refer to any steel construct that emulates its wooden counterpart (i.e., no launches; no inversions; etc.) & can be a Giga (300'-399'), Strata (400'-499') or even lower than a Mega (200'-299'). Simple with no fuss...right? No need to get in a tizzy...you can all put away those torches & pitchforks.

Here is my update from today

Here is an overview shot. You can see at least 4 groupings of footers poured as well as the station. They are starting to pile up dirt into a small hill in the area with the C shaped black tarp on the right.


The area no longer looks just plain flat



The trees have started to come down by the picnic pavilions

They have begun to setup the Final Summons maze

They are putting a fence up around the grass hill next to the picnic pavilion.

They have moved those crates next to the fence but they have removed all of the shipping labels



Here are the guys putting together the rebar for the footers

And here is the security officer that followed 10 feet behind me all the way down the fence and back

Before we all go crazy about the crates with sfs intec on them they are a supplier of engineered fasteners for the roofing and metal construction industry ...

Doing a little googling, and a little stalking works wonders..

Does this mean we are getting Mighty Canadian Minebuster too? I don't want that... THING ...

^^All of my pictures are taken with my camera phone. That is the only resolution I have. Only the very base of the lift hill has been poured. They are working between the lift hill and the station/train shed right now.

Those are some big footers. Great pics Derek especially for a cell phone camera.
