While we're at it we might as well make the entire park nascar themed and we can change the name from Carowinds to Nascar Speedpark.

Wait
Why does that sound familiar?

You can probably bet the bank on there being no chance of that happening.

The kids area will most likely be themed to something for kids. Maybe something Cedar Fair already has the rights to. Like, I dunno, PEANUTS?

Think people, think.

probably its a dumb idea that has been rehashed time and time again...I remember someone posting a nascar themed section on here before...

If Snoopy's on his way in it will be a crying shame for kids, who for years have enjoyed Nick and the characters they watch everyday on TV; but I guess the kids will just have to accept change like I had to when HB left.

times are changing but I could understand the transformation from HB to nick but from nick to snoopy is kinda a step back but a step I understand from a business standpoint...

Yeah i agree, little kids don't know who Snoopy is. My little cousin saw a picture of Snoopy and asked my aunt, "Mommy why does Brian look so funny?" Kids just won't connect with Snoopy at all.

Here's the thing about kids: They don't care. They like whatever they are supposed to like. Ironically, this is also true for probably 80% of adults in the United States, but it's especially true for kids. I always liked the quote Pixar had, and I'm paraphrasing here, "Kids will watch anything. We make our movies for adults, then make them appropriate for kids to watch."

While I think kids do make a connection with the Nick stuff, they certainly didn't run screaming from the area when it was Animation Station themed to Hanna-Barbera characters. The only one of those they were pretty likely to know was Scooby, but they still enjoyed the area just fine even if they had no idea who the character was on the sign to the ride they were on.

I'd think the Peanuts characters would be semi-known to kids from the Thanksgiving and Christmas specials at least. That's nothing like watching Spongebob 8 times a day, mind you, but probably more exposure than they ever had to most HB stuff this decade.

lol use nickelodeons rival, cartoon network land. of coarse both cartoon network and nickelodeon have sucked balls since the 90s. idk i almost voted for disney land but then i remembered tht ceder fair would be sued bigtime (i forgot disney had 2 park lol)

But, at the same time. Just from experience with my siblings and nieces, nephews, etc., Nick is ALWAYS changing shows and cancelling shows. Almost every show themed ride in Nick Central now (Rugrats, Rocket Power, Jimmy Neutron, Little Bill, Danny Phantom, etc.) have been cancelled. If Cedar Fair was to keep the Nick contract for say 10 years, kids would have no connection with the shows as they are cancelled and never talked about again.

I think it's actually smarter to go ahead and get rid of Nick instead of paying big money for something that will pretty much have no relevance in a few years. It's a better business decision to go ahead and bring in Peanuts as it will live for MANY MANY years. After all, the Christmas/Thanksgiving/Halloween/Easter specials still come on ABC.

It should be themed to pokemon lol i know they wont do tht but if they were too i could see the runaway reptar turn into a pikachu coaster. lol how about a nintendo theme for it. but seriously they prob wont retheme it they will probably just let it be a kiddy park because ever since cedar fair bought paramount they left the whole park unthemed. they could of bought the licenses to keep the themes but they didnt. its expensive to buy rights to theme something. they will use all tht extra money to put in more rides. why do you think we are getting 2 coasters since cedar fair bought paramount because they are not wasting money on themes lol. but if they were to retheme it i say pokemon, nintendo, or marvel comics.

I was going to say use spell check, but no. Just... no. :|

Also, it's already been discussed to great extent that Cedar Fair LP already has the license to the "Peanuts" characters. Therefore, it wouldn't be that expensive to use in our park (certainly pocket change when compared to our new 20+ MILLION dollar coaster.)

Having grown up during the Pokemon craze, though... I have to admit I might enjoy that, even though it will never happen. Ever.
