You do know that would require over the shoulder harness...

Ok, I forgot about the design of the trains. Even though they would be no true inversions, the train design would need them as opposed to a new hyper design train. Ok, scratch that idea but I would much rather have a floorless train on Vortex any day over the out dated stand up trains.

If the new project isn't a launch format, then a small launch coaster in Thrill Zone could bring back some of the sparkle to that side of the park to replace Hurler would be nice. And then a nice new Intamin woodie where Rip Roarin' Rapids is at.

How can a lap bar come down from the side....yeah it works on flat rides that pin you to the seat with all the spinning but I doubt it would be highly effective on a coaster...

Phantom's Revenge has them. Like someone pointed out before, though, the B&M hyper trains are practically floorless as it is. You are reclined back so far you can't see under you anyway, and your feet don't touch anything.

Don't forget the new style S&S restraints like on Powderkeg at Silver Dollar City and the various Screamin Swings all have lapbars that come down from the side.

I also agree that hyper floorless trains are the worst idea ever. EVER. That would be like painting a mustache on the Mona Lisa. Sounds like a good idea in theory, but then you see it in action and go WTF did we do that for? The original version was perfect. :?

naaaaa... we just need a seat design like behemoth or diamondback!

(i think i read something that cf was planning to build three hypers and so far two of them have the same seat design so were probably going to get the same seat design)....

Hello everyone! I am a long time lurker and a first time poster. Be easy on me, please. I wish, when CF considers changes for the future, that they might consider my ears. Carowinds is so unbelievably noisy between the annoying canned music being pumped out of those few crackling overstressed speakers, games operators barking incoherently through microphones, and ride attendants inexplicably delivering their required spiel over the prerecorded greetings on certain rides. I know, I know- it is an amusement park. I expect there to be a certain fun level of activity and hubbub, but the decibel level seems so extreme. There is no pocket of quiet to enjoy in the park if you should need a short rest. Older versions of Carowinds had peaceful spots where you could enjoy a bit of tranquility (the Sternwheeler being one of them). Now- not so much. Is it just me? Am I getting older and therefore more cranky?

I am with you 100% on all of those points except for the ride ops one. I would prefer that there were no recorded spiels and just the operators talking; a little personality is great. One thing I will say is that when I visited this year it seemed that the music that they were playing was more traditional park music and less terrible top 40 pop. Hopefully that is the case, which would be a step in the right direction at least.

Music was actually one of the biggest things I noticed this year at Kings Island.

It wasn't all this Top 40 mess and was mostly 70s and 80s music, but good quality music. I know a lot of you younger guys don't care for that style music, but of course I love it. It really set the mood for the park and made me feel like I was back in the heyday parks like Kings Island in the 70s and 80s. And I don't mean for that to sound like KI and Carowinds have lost their appeal or are past their prime.

Well here's what I would like to see happen to the park in 5-10 years. (my crazy dreams...)

On the picture attached, there are several blank spots along the park. I will start with the Floorless Coaster. I was thinking about Griffon or Sheikra when I put this down. I know these are dive coasters, but they don't have floors, either. haha
This would take the place of the Hurler. (as much as I love that ride)

The second spot is just beside the floorless coaster, where the rapids ride used to be. This entire area would be used for a giga coaster, this area being the helixes and station. The Giga coaster would (on it's first drop) go under the ricochet and to the area where the Cyclone is. This ride would take the place of the Cyclone. There would be several hills in this area, and it then turns around and comes back, the final helix being where the rapids were.

There would be a Wooden coaster to take the place of the Vortex, and surrounding shops/areas. This would be a large coaster, but it would be in a rather small area (comparing that to the area of Thunder Road). It curves around in that area, actually making left turns.

Up at the top, where Spongebob's theater used to be, I couldn't decide what to put up there, but I was leaning towards something like Cedar Points tower of power.

Personally, I would like to see the Southern Star taken out and replaced with a ride kind of like the Aero 360 from Kennywood.

Also I'd like to go with what seems to be one of the most popular ideas, Take out the 3D Theater and replace it with some sort of flat ride.

Least but not least, I say they should do some rehab work on Hurler as well as fix the break run so its not as fast of a stop.
