^^ The flame icon usually means a "hot" topic, which has had more than 20, 30, however many, replies.

Yes, totally loving the new board design. Very eye catching.

Hey Jonathan, is the Birthday notification gone, or am I missing it someplace? Not a big deal, just wondering, nice to see who else shares a birthday with ya sometimes.

Nice surprise with the site. Looks like you've been doing your homework.

Question? I am using Firefox 3.0.13 on Ubuntu 9.04 and it seems to me that some of the pictures are cut-off on the right edge. I reset my View to the default but they still seem chopped. Is this right? I guess I need to see the original pictures before they got uploaded on this site for a comparison.

Yes, if you look at the second picture charlotteguy posted of the new track I only see the "middle" portion of his original photo. I compared the one on this site to the original http://i716.photobucket.com/albums/ww170/charlotteguy02/BM2.jpg , which I got from the properties. Any suggestions?

Thanks again for the update.

Thanks for the responses guys. It was long overdue for a change. In response to some questions/comments:

-Birthdays: This is a good point. I had completely forgotten about it to be honest. I will work on getting this back. If anyone notices something else that they liked on the old board that is missing here let me know.
-The flame icon: April_Fool already clarified this one, but to take it further, it means that there are at least 50 replies in that thread.
-Photos: This is the biggest known problem. On the old forum if you posted an image that was bigger than the width of the page it would just blow out over the edge of the page. I didn't like this either. I am going to see if I can work something out where images are automatically resized to fit the page. This shouldn't be too much of a problem.

I can't seem to find a "View New Posts" button on anything other then the homepage.

I see it on the home page and on the forum listing (top left). Was it more places before? I never actually used that function so I don't even remember it.

Well, I thought I had replyed to this. Jonathan, I think it was always up on the page, no matter if you were in a forum or on the index page. So I could go into the Durt Thread and read the posts, then hit view new post's and see what forums have been updated. Helps when you have a lot of activity like yesterday. I know I for one just use it to see what has been updated since my last visit instead of going into each topic. It isn't a really big deal, just a minor change people can get used to.

Only place I can find it is on the Homepage. Only thing I on the red bar is View your posts.

Right above "view your posts" hit Board Index. Down below the red bar with "view your posts" is another line, under the countdown to the annoucement. In it it has "View unanswered posts • View new posts • View active topics". Easy to look over, kind of blends in so you don't spot it right off.

I'm afraid that I have to disagree with everyone's opinions of the new site look. I find the home page a bit jumbled and disorganized, and the posts are hard to read with red glaring me in the face. One of the reasons I began using CC after finding it was because of it's simple and easy to use design. I believe that in an attempt to stay modern and keep up with the times, this site has lost it's old feel, in exactly the same way that Carowinds did.

Just my 2 cents.

Fair enough. If anyone else feels the same way, I would encourage you to speak up. I'm much more likely to do something about it if there are multiple people who don't like it. This look is probably going to stick for now aside from minor tweaks, but I might consider giving the option in the control panel to use the default phpbb theme.
