Just got the latest construction photos from the park and Borg is now testing! It completed its first run on Feb 19th at 8:30pm. Nice to see that things are going so smoothly and hopefully there won't be any major probs with it.

Excellent. If the photos are in my inbox, then I will post them to Carowinds Connection when I get home around 5:30 or 5:45.

I noticed in the picture with the station that right before the stairs that lead into the station, the queue line expands into what looks like a large square. I'm just guessing, but maybe that is the supposed "staging area" that a couple of articles have mentioned. Any thoughts?

By the way, there were a lot of large open crates (it was a large box with a grid like frame so you can see whats in it, just not clearly) in the parking lot. I couldn't make out what was in them, but they were large and looked black in color. My best guess is for theming.

I certainly hope so. I tell you from the looks of everything, it looks like the theming is going to be very limited. This is certainly a huge dissappointment if they don't do any more theming than what we see.

Time is running out, so I can't see them adding much more than some landscaping to the area.

Remember that those pics were taken on February 17, and today is the 25th. I'm not sure what to expect, but a lot can be pulled off in a few days.

Well, it is obvious by now that they will not make the entire thing look sci-fiey and now I just hope they make it look that the Borg Sphere crashed in the middle of the woods and and station house is like a building that was already there and the borgs are investigating it. I just hope with my fingers crossed that they don't do a loose Sci-fi theme. That would be ruining the ride right there. If it's possible to ruin a Vekoma.

I hope they still keep the theme on The BORG> It would be a dissaster. With the name and color it would't look right!!

actually, you'd be suprised on what people can do in 23 days.

like i've said i a post before, take collosiums for example.i've seen them go from ice skating rink to moster truck course in like 2 1/2 days.

Throwing a bunch of dirt on top of boards which cover the ice rink is no big deal. Doing extensive theming like most of us had hoped for is a little more complicated. Especially when you take into consideration that they've yet to even finish the que lines.

I was really hoping for Universal/Disney like theming. Now I'm thinking we'll get SixFlags/Paramount theming. I guess I should have seen it coming.

^^ Whine whine whine!!! You cant go to an apple stand asking for oranges!! This is paramount not disney or universal. Seems to me some people just cant be happy. I think the fact that decided to do something is good enough for me!!

^Paramount should not claim to own highly themed "Movie" parks if all they are doing is naming rides after movies.

If they invested in attractions like Universal does, then it would be different. This "Movie Park" idea is just a faze they'll use for a few years, and then it will simmer down again. Just like the 1993/1994 seasons.

I wouldn't expect much more theming than Top Gun has, and that's about only the station's paint scheme and plastic fighter jets around the walkways.

:D I am happy about what they are doing and they say they are ahead of schedule. I don't care much about themeing I just crae about the ride its self!

When has Paramount ever claimed to own highly themed parks? Just curious. If anyone ends up being let down by the theming on this ride, it will be because of their own inflated expectations. Not that this hasn't happened before with every single ride being constructed. The offseason goes something like this:

Step 1: Enthusiasts complain about what has been announced for their park
Step 2: Enthusiasts begin to think maybe what they are getting isn't so bad
Step 3: Enthusiasts raise their expectations for what their park is getting to a rediculously high level
Step 4: Opening day comes and enthusiasts complain about what their park got.

PS: This wasn't being directed at you Duke, or anyone in particular.

Why couldn't we just get a B&M floorless in 2005!
