Well if they take out putt-putt you know white water falls will come with it just my thought it would be a nice place for a flat or add on with some water ride for the water park.

i did some research and i found out carowinds even owns land (i dont know where) that they arnt even using (not as parkinglot or rides) just not used yet. i say start building on that land where ever it is instead of tearing down old rides

I believe they own a lot of the woods along the park but they will prob. keep building on or or the parking lot like your doing now.

I don't really see any rides leaving any time soon , but i bet there will be another flat ride in the nick central area by the TV road trip. Pleanty of room there for a new flat ride.

I only see one or two rides leaving in the next year or so and one of them is the action theater and putt putt.

I think Rip Roarin' Rapids will be the next to go. Too expensive to maintain, and it would open up tons of room for rides and another path to Thrill Zone. The line is a trap, and ever since they took the cave out its no fun. RRR may have the longest wait in the park on a busy day.

Could there be enough room if they do this to put a ride similar to Pilgrims Plunge at HW :?: along with tearing down WWF

There is rumor circulating about Cedar Point adding a new flume type ride from Intamin for next season...If that turns out to be the case, I wonder if we will see the return of a new and improved log flume at Carowinds in the future...

Maybe a couple of years... and really, they could stand to take Hurler with it and use that whole tract of real estate(and some) for an Intamin woodie. I just know it won't be a long time before Cyclone gets the torch. As for flats, a Chance Morgan Revolution or Huss Frisbee of some sort would do well... my family loves those rides at other parks...

I really doubt they'll take out the Cyclone, at least not for a while. When it was built back in 1980 it was a record breaking ride, as the first coaster with 4 inversions. Its a part of Carowinds history and in my opinion shouldn't be removed. The only way I think it will go is if they plan on an updated version of the ride, using the same style.

As for the ride I believe will be the next to go, I'd have to say either the Vortex or the water rapids. The Vortex is a great ride, but at the same time it is a little rougher than what people expect, and from what I've seen it has the lowest rating of all the rides in the park.

^ By painting the cyclone I would think it would give the ride maybe 5 more years at the most because that would put it at about 25 years old.

I am going to catch so much crap for this, but I can't resist. Hurler can go. Vortex, too. :)

I'd be mighty disappointed if they did away with Cyclone in less than, say, five years.

Agrreed ! But if you took out WWF and Putt Putt then put in a new Giant Feris Wheel, that would be awesome.

Vortex really does need to go but the hurler, not so much the hurler could be fixed like thunder road but a steel coaster can not maybe we could get GCI to do the hurler to since there doing such a great job with thunder road.
