You say they should take this coaster out and put another in it's place. Or scrap a coaster to put a flat in it's place. This isn't RCT folks. Unless a ride is really costing the park alot of money due to repars and preventative maintenance, then they probably aren't going anywhere. An example is Big Bad Wolf. It is a great ride, many folks love it, but is just costing the park too much to keep it around. Does coasters and other rides need work, YES. Hurler needs some TLC, the Dodgem's are in serious need of something, Scooby Doo's Haunted Mansion needs work done on the guns, Little Bills Boats could go around at least 2 more times, the whiplash causing bunny hops on Hey Arnold's Taxi Chase needs to be removed, the cave needs to return to Rip Roarin' Rapids, and we need the Wave Swinger Back. We don't need ANYTHING replaced, but there is alot of work that could and needs to be done, and new flats put in as well.
Let's see how many people the new coaster can bring into the park, hopefully the company can get attendence up enough to put towards further park improvements.

I don't see a lot of new stuff coming to the park anytime soon I see used stuff maybe replacing some stuff but with all the stuff thats getting repaired right now is pretty good for the state cedar fair is in
but I see thunder road with new trains in 2 to 3 years since GCI is doing the repairs.

Amen on that. Goldrusher is one of the smoother mine trains there is. It has the history of the first coaster. It is a great coaster for children and also for older people who do not want or cannot ride the big ones plus it is great at night. It should stay forever.

well it wont disappear entirely but I thing Drop Tower gets redone so that its more like KD's. Thunder Road, when done reconstructing, will be painted White once again. Rip Roarin Rapids will either be replaced or redesigned as to relieve the ridiculous wait time aka get rid of the raft lift. Carowinds has tons of room for expansion so dumping rides isn't really necessary, Look for more parking lot expansion with hopefully some good flat rides.

Drop Tower was not designed for a rotating ring, therefore it cannot ever have one. Thunder Road will never be painted white again while Cedar Fair owns the park, at least according to the maintenance Q&A at Coaster Stock. Finally, what does the raft lift have to do with the wait time for Rip Roarin' Rapids?

I said redone, not slightly altered. And whats the reasoning for Thunder Road not to be painted if I may ask? and removing the raft lift, will let transitioning of riders in and out of the raft alot smoother speeding up the whole process. When I visited KD, thats how they had theres and I was amazed at how fast rafts were getting out of the station

I still don't get it. Kings Dominion has a lift on their raft as well. All raft rides do, otherwise there is no way for them to get back up to the top.

The paint makes the wood rot faster which makes the ride more likely to rot away.

That's interesting, you would think paint would protect the wood a bit. Really wish I was able to get to Coaster Stock.

About the Drop Tower at KD, is it like the one at Six Flags Georgia? Hadn't rode it, but did see when I was down there last. I would probably ride it now, gotten a bit more brave.

No. Kings Dominion's tower is 305 feet tall, and seats 56 people, and doesn't spin on the way up. Acrophobia is 200 feet tall, only seats 30, does spin, and the seats are floorless. They also tilt forward at the very top for that extra fear factor. Both are terrific.

Acrophobia tilts forward? That is insane. I've ridden the drop tower at KD a couple of times. Half way to the top I start asking myself why I do these things...

Vortex is smooth, So is hurler. Hurler just slams you sometimes and Vortex hurts because of the straddle. The ride itself is quite smooth IMO.
