That, good sir, is a contradiction. A ride cannot be smooth, yet "slam you sometimes." That's like saying "I'm really nice, but I like to beat up the handicapped sometimes for no apparent reason."

All the coasters at carowinds are smooth on the front. But some are smooth any where on the train like Afterburn.

   I can relate.
Thanks Jay for posting that, forgot KD was quite taller than SF. We need one of those at Carowinds!!

I think the action theater could go or get a better movie because ive never been in there so I don't really care for it.

WTF!!! Do you think that opinion really is gonna hold water?? You've NEVER been in the action theatre and don't know what the movie is about, yet you think it should go. How about having an informed opinion before saying this and that should go. Read more, post less.

I am starting to believe that RctWeekly posts just to get his post count up. It seems like maybe 1 out of every 10 posts he makes actually contributes something thoughtful to a discussion.

I wish they would not of put in the gocarts myself. I always hoped they would remove the sky flyer in the action zone to open up that area and expanded. That section of the park is very drab and needs a lot of work.

I went to the action theatre today for the first time in about 5 years. It was actually way more fun than i thought I remembered it being. I thought it was very realistic and I loved the way the seats moved and everything. It should not go, but yes it needs a new movie. And since they are getting rid of Nickelodean theme next year they would have to get a new show anyway.

Bring back 7th Portal! It's weird to feel "nostalgic" for something from earlier this decade, but it seems soooo long ago since that was the main attraction in that theater. It had it's cheesy moments and wasn't exactly Spiderman @ IOA or anything, but it was visually interesting and made some great use of the 3D at times.

I don't hate Spongebob and will watch it occasionally when it comes on the tube as I flip by, but I've never felt any compulsion to go see the Spongebob movie at the Action F/X theater after seeing it once. I think it's been a bad move to not show something different over on the other side to offer some variety. I even kinda miss hearing that whole "Turbo Tour" spiel that was playing in the "pre-show" area. I got so used to hearing little sound bites from that whenever heading to or from Thunder Road, and now it seems so quiet there.

Of course that's saved us from seeing any more monstrosities such as Meteor Attack and "Indiana Jones", which had zero connection to the real films aside from the dude wearing a similar hat. I'm not sure there's a word in the English language to properly quantify the amount that one sucked. Hard to believe that Smash Factory was probably the high point for that side of the theater, aside from the year or so they brought back Days of Thunder.

Wow, I had forgotten all about 7th portal. I had to go look it up. Now that I remember it, I'm jumping on your bandwagon! I was unable to find much about it, though. Does it have any connection to Paramount that would prevent it's showing? Maybe they could use it in transition while they make something better...

If a coaster had to go, I would say to ditch the Cyclone. I hate it. But there is hardly any room there to put anything, so the Hurler would be the most logical choice. I hate Vortex too, but there isn't much room there either. Hurler takes up a good amount of space and there is lots of room behind it.

I don't see the scream weaver in the park in the next few years. I have never seen a line for it, but, if it does get removed, I doubt something will be put in it's place. It was put in a spot where it looks like nothing big can replace it. Or, do some major work on the Hurler, making it longer, to expand out to the scream weaver site.

I don't see the Scream Weaver going anywhere. There are still a ton of them at parks everywhere, which indicates that there are no maintenance or part replacement problems. Carowinds is very lacking when it comes to flat rides, so I certainly don't see them taking that out.
