At what point do the next years' season passes usually become available? Will there be a point late in the 2009 season when you can purchase a 2010 pass that still gives you access for the last few days of 2009?

Seems like they do start selling them early, maybe after Labor Day or mid September. Wouldn't be surprised to see them do it around Labor Day since the attendence and park spending are down across the board. The Halloween Season is pretty much busy, packed on weekends. They may do all they can to get people into the park this year, so offering free Scarowinds admission this year for a 2010 season pass could be a good way to do it. Especially knowing the new ride is coming next year.

Also this year with the 2009 Season pass you have free Scarowinds but they go on sale around the first week of November with the option to pay for it later on.

I would think they will start selling the 2010 passes right after they make the huge announcement for 2010. It will be a great way to sell passes for next year after such an announcement. But again that is just a guess.

I hear the park in Cali has already began selling for 2010 but that is just what I hear now. I have no proof they are.

That is the after closing gig. They offer the pass for the remaining season and includes Scarowinds for this year as well first, but payed up front. Once the season is over, they start offering the Pay Later option for next years pass.

I really wish they would charge less for that Platinum Pass, but oh well. Paramount spoiled me a bit with that. Guess I am going to suck it up and buy one for next year for the new coasters.

Thanks for the info. I feel the same way about the cost of the platinum pass....however, I have a feeling a lot of us are going to cough up whatever it takes this time around...
