Just got back from Cedar Point, heh 9 friggen hour drive, well worth it though. All I can say is wow, Carowinds has ALOT of catching up to do. Top Thrill Dragster was insane, looking at Maverick, I didn't expect much, then I rode it, holy sh!t. That is one of the best coasters I'ved ever ridden. Rode Millenium Force twice, once in the rain, if you havn't road a giga coaster in the pouring rain, its quite an experience. My face hurt afterwards. The worst ride there, is Mean Streak. I absolutly HATE that ride, think I fractured a rib riding it. Wicked Twister and MaxAir were great and thought to myself carowinds should get some rides like that, shouldn't cost them that much. Disappointment of the day, Disaster Transport, wtf is that crap, I mean seriously, what a waste, the guy that designed that ride is doing carowinds new coaster themeing, that scares me. Oh and I think it was kinda crappy to let regular ticket holders in the gates at 9am, then keep them confined in a series of guard rails so that the only thing they can do, is watch platinum pass holders get ERT or spend money in the gift shops. Anyways, deffinately reccommend the trip if you live in charlotte.

If you get the chance to go again, you need to stay at one of the in park hotels. We stayed at Hotel Breakers 3 days, and that was the only way for me to ride everything ( horrible reliability on TTD and Maverick). You also get early park entry if you stay on the peninsula. I wouldn't recommend Hotel Breakers though, it was falling apart. The better one would probably be Sandcastle Suites, looks like a Hampton Inn kind of hotel. Maverick, MF, and TTD are my top 3 and all time favorite coasters. But that isn't saying much...

Stayed at Knights Inn, and believe it or not, me and my nephew rode everything that was important. when they finally opened the gates, everyone ran for the huge coasters, we started on the otherside, did max air, wicked Twister etc, so when we got around to the other coasters, the lines had thinned out

Thats good, I got there at about 4 the first day i was there and by 9 I had rode 12 of the 16 coasters i was able to ride, then the following day 3 of the coasters were down all day, so i think i got pretty lucky to get everything in.
How long did you stay?

Did you go to the park on Monday, and was that the only day you went?
I plan on getting the big daddy pass for next year, and planning on hitting up Kings Dominion and BGW in a trip. Really thinking hard about doing a trip to Cedar Fair and Kings Island, and maybe hitting Dollywood as well on the way back in. Wouldn't mind hitting up Dorney and Hershey as well, but that would require major booty kissing on the wife. Figure if I could do Cedar on Sunday and Monday, KI on Tuesday, and Dollywood Wed, maybe the crowds wouldn't be too aweful to get mostly everything done. I figure if I'm going to go Platinum, I might as well try to hit up as many Parks as I can. Never been to most of those parks.

well if you want to do it right, get a pass or something that has ERT, be there at 9am and knock out the 3 biggest coasters, Top Thrill, Millenium Force, and Maverick because once the lines fill up, you are looking at atleast an hour wait per ride, also check the weather, for some reason, they only run 1 train when theres rain. oh and eat at the Thirsty Poney. Place is awesome.
