I am sorry to say but i think the first year Drop Zone was good but now i think its time to honeslty remove the ride its just not a crowd pleaser anymore. I am just wondering if anybody agrees with me and maybe we should put a ride like Delerium in its place

Uhhh.. no, I definitely am gonna have to disagree there. Why don't we get Delerium, and put it in somewhere else instead of the tiny space that Drop Zone is occupying. I haven't seen anything that shows me it isn't a crowd pleaser, and it is still my favorite drop ride of the ones I've been on. Besides, even if it isn't a crowd pleaser, why remove the ride?

I'll admit I would love to have a bigger version such as PKI's or PKD's, but to remove it just to put in a delerium is crazy. There's plenty of other places to put in a new flat.

It still gives a great thrill to me. If they were to remove it, it better be for a bigger version.

Not a crowd pleaser? According to Guest Services (in 2002), The Drop Zone is STILL one of the three most popular rides in the park based on annual ridership! That is amazing considering with each load it can only handle 16 passengers, not to mention how slow loading normally is!

Besides, it takes up little space other than the que line. The Eli-Bridge Scrambler in Carolina Showplace takes up more room...

Yes, I would have to agree with you. Drop Zone is a little small and out dated compared to Six Flags Over G.A, and other parks. Everytime I go to Carowinds, the Line is pretty much empty. If they were to remove it, they should put a flat ride. But........I also think that would be good hyper-coaster space. All they need to do is put the station were Drop Zone was. Then, just build the coaster out behind The Hurler. But hey, this is just what I think.

I wouldn't like drop zone to go. It is a pretty cool ride. My favorite drop ride is tower of terror at DW. Even though it still has a cool theme but not as good as tot. Keep DROP ZONE!!!!

I would only let carowinds remove drop zone if they were going to put in a new 300 foot rotating drop tower like at PKI. I think the one there is the best anywhere. Yes, better than our Drop Zone.

if they were to remove drop zone, then they should put a ride like Acrophobia at Six Flags over Georgia,at the top of the tower you get tilted frontwards so your facing the ground(not at a 90 degree angle but still),and your not sitting, your practiclly standing.

Personally I don't find Acrophobia to be that great. Sure, it's unique and its a new experience, and I ride it at least once everytime I go, but I'll take the standard sit down version any day. There's just something about the entire force of 60 to 0 MPH in a couple of seconds directed straight into my groin that doesn't particularly appeal to me. Granted, the giant gyro-drops look insane, but let's face it, a park isn't going to remove their fairly new drop tower just to put in a new one: the marketability just isn't there.

^ I Agree. I can't "power ride" Acrophobia!

I can see, somewhere down the road, that Drop Zone would get replaced. If, for no other reason than it getting old and out dated. I like the ride and have been on the 200ft + drops also.
The deal for me is the sensation. The first second is where the rush comes in and the rest is just ok. It is like parachuting, the initial rush and terror comes at the moment you jump out of the plane but then the rest is just sight seeing. Once our Drop Zone lets you go you have that rush from the drop to the stop. King's Islands Drop Zone is great going up but the excitement of the drop only lasts as long as ours.

Well, the drop zone at PKI has a much better ride capacity than ours. I am always waiting in a relatively short line for 20 minutes. The same line TG could clear out in 5-10.
