This has been touched on a little in the main thread but I thought I would create a poll to get a feel for which is more popular. After listening to some of the interviews, it appears that Cedar Fair hasn't made up their minds whether to tear up the parking lot and plant grass or leave the asphalt and theme it to a race track.
Which would you prefer to see?

I think it would go really well if they decided to theme it and leave the asphalt.

If they could do it right and well, I much LOVE to, and much prefer to, see a racetrack under the coaster. But, I don't think CF could do it well, so I would say they need to tear up the blacktop and plant grass.

Done well, it could be very cool looking. What I'm picturing is a racetrack under the ride, with a wall and "catch fence" on the edges that would also serve as the fence to keep people from the ride area, at least on the parking-lot side. Under the turnaround, they could have a sharply banked curve. Throw in some billboards, etc., and it could really work.

Merely patching the current asphalt and painting some lines, um, no.

I like the looks of the "tunnel" entrance to the station in the concept drawings, that's a well-done detail. So there's hope, although I think grass is going to be the safer bet.

I'd like to see if Cedar Fair really can theme a ride. Besides Disaster Transport ( and that's not saying too much), I can't think of a ride that was heavily themed or themed too well. I think this is their chance to add that extra dimension to a coaster. I'm all for the race track theme if they can do it well.

Well, CP's new water ride looks like it will be themed well. But, it is CP (flagship park), and it is only a rendering which always look good.
