Type: B&M Hyper
Name: American Patriot (or something else American)
Height: 215 feet
Colors: Red Track, Blue and White Supports
Train Design: Diamondback/Behemoth trains. Instead of a snake print it has a eagle print.
Elements: 8 Hills, 1 Hammerhead, 1 Goliath Helix, No MCBR, Splashdown, 1 final helix

It would go along with the Skytower since these will both be the 2 skyline rides.

My prediction is:

Type: B&M Hyper
Name: The Intimidator (Themed to Dale Earnhardt and NASCAR)
Speed: 87 mph
Height: 260 feet
Length: 5400 feet
No launch (wish I were wrong)
No Splashdown

Making it the tallest, fastest and longest coaster in the South.

Debated on putting this in the "Track Arrival" thread, but figured it fit better here. Feel free to move if need be. :)

So, went to Carowinds on Sunday, and while discussing coasters with my friend Dustin (who is a casual rider, nothing like the nutcase I am, lol), I started telling him about SheiKra and Griffon, and the lightbulb went off. Hey, maybe we're getting a vertical dive coaster!! Why not, it would be the only one between BGE and BGA, something that SF Georgia doesn't have, and an awesome addition to the skyline. Those are each 200 feet high, so it would cover a "hyper" as well.

Then, today, I received this e-mail newsletter from Carowinds. At the bottom, it said:

Record Breaking History Making!
Time is racing as fast as lightning!
Log onto carowinds.com August 26 for the largest announcement in Carowinds’ history!

Time is *RACING* .... Maybe a racing hyper! That would be cool, too. Nah, forget that. Here's my prediction:

B&M coaster (this is a pretty good guess considering the track that is sitting behind TR)
Floorless, launched, racing, hyper dive coaster. But no splashdown, not enough room. Ohh, ohh, maybe they'll launch you DOWN the vertical drop ..... OK, now I just think my meds are kicking in (Vicodin is gooooooddd)

In all seriousness, I'm wondering if it won't be a launched coaster.

Here's one for you. Poked around on RCDB to see if I could get the name of the company that did the Hulk launch (cause I'll be durned if I remember it), and saw that this company "Ing.-Büro Stengel GmbH" designed it for B&M. 3 guesses as to what current (2) and past (1) coasters at Carowinds this company has also worked on. That would be Top Gun / Flight Deck / After Burn, Vortex, and ..... Drumroll please ..... WHITE LIGHTNIN'.

I'm just sayin .....

You may be connecting dots that don't exist. I am fairly certain that Hulk's launch was not designed by Stengel but rather Universal themselves, if not some other third party.

Also in the rcdb notes for 'Ing.-Büro Stengel GmbH' you get this:

The Ingenieur Büro Stengel ("Ingenieur Büro" is German for "Engineering Office") company was started by Werner Stengel. Simply put, Werner Stengel has been involved with more roller coasters than anyone. Stengel is involved with so many roller coasters because he does not build or sell the roller coasters, but works with most of the manufacturers that do. The type of work provided by Stengel varies from client to client and project to project. These services include design, layout and calculations for every aspect of roller coasters as well as other amusement rides. It is beyond the scope of the database to detail these services on a ride-by-ride basis.

Again not saying you are right or wrong, but Werner Stengel does not mechanically design launch systems. To my knowledge anyway.

EDIT:

After clicking around the Stengel official site I came across this:

We provide any or all of the following professional services for all kind of amusement rides (Portable and Permanent):

* Overall Design
* Design of Roller Coaster track following spline curves
* Computation of all forces react on the passenger
* Determination of all units including drives and brakes
* Stress analysis, structural analysis and fatigue analysis
* Column shop drawings
* Drawings for rail-pipe, track bending and tube-development

Height: Around or above 240ft.
Length: Between 4000 and 5000ft.
Speed: between 75 and 85mph.
Would like to see a watersplash, but I doubt it will happen.
As for a launch, again, would like to see one, but I doubt it'll happen.

Wow, that is a bold prediction.....I feel the same. I think it'll also have 3 trains. And there is gonna be an area themed exclusively to Dale Earnhardt. CF and Themes, oximoron no more!! 8)
Can't wait till the announcement next week to see if we're close!!
