I was just wondering why the White Lightning site is still on Carowinds.com. Anyone talk with any of the official Carowinds people as to why it was created?

I bet you it was viral marketing. I also wonder if Carowinds was involved in leaking that photo of the White Lightning name?

From Tony & Tyler: wrote:"White Lightning" is another name for moonshine, which plays a part in the ride's theme. Also, our friends at Carowinds were using "White Lightning" as a teaser to their new attraction. We thought we'd play along by using it, but tweaking "White" to be spelled, "Whyte" as a tribute to a member of our staff with the same last name. Just havin' a little fun.

So it was in fact the park playing with the nosey nerds...

Cedar Point makes sense teasing with Whyte Lightning now, but for Carowinds it still makes no FREAKING SENSE TO ME.

My guess is at one point the ride was to be called White Lightning but when they realized they could get a Nascar theme they did that instead.
