I know others will have their thoughts to post about the event. So, just piggyback your thoughts here in this thread. I tweeted and put stuff on Facebook all day.

The whole day was very leisurely. No real lines on many of the rides.

The construction tour let us see all the footers that have been poured. Got some pics of Afterburn's batwing exit from beside of it. I'll post them when I get home. You'll see what I'm taking about.

The q@a was fun. Bart Kinzel is quite entertaining. The lifthill should be completed and topped off by the end of October. They're very much on schedule. We got an exclusive! All the new names for the rides in Planet Snoopy. Expect Scooby/FOCer to be Woodstock Express. My feeble mind can't remember all of the names. Others might remember.

It was a fun day.

Oh yeah...each ride's name has something to do with a particular comic strip. That comic strip will be in the queue line.

I have to say I really dont like the name Charater Carousel. I wonder what they are going to do with Runaway Reptar, since it has that giant Reptar. It would be neat if that did replace it with another giant charater. I think the themeing is neat would be a shame for it to become very bland.

Without giving away too much, here are some random factoids from C3 and the Q&A. I don't know what was more entertaining - Bart's candidness, or the kid sitting in front of us.

Intimidator:
Construction tour was from South Gate entrance via service road up to the stuffed animal trailers. Construction is ahead of schedule. Lift done by October 28, trains running by February. A B&M rep is on site as of last week. The clues on the crate .... yep, they were f'ing with us.

Planet Snoopy:
Ride names - expect Joe Cool, Woodstock, Snoopy, Red Baron. The park is sub-contracting the re-theme labor, as they already have plenty to do in the off-season. Maybe adding a Moonwalk flat. New Snoopy show in Carowinds Theater. New Action Theater show. Scooby Mansion will be re-themed - should remain a laser shooter.

Paint:
Expect bold primary colors to replace the Nickelodeon pastels. Cyclone gets five colors. Thunder Road to get some fresh white paint around the station.

Scarowinds:
Will have roughly double the scharacters from last season. New show. New maze. Extended hours to 1AM some nights. Stan Mikita will greet you....

Thunder Road:
Rehab = 1.2 mil. (I think.) Hurler is next.

ERT:
Hurler twice. Very fun at night. In the front.
Ricochet thrice. Not recommended after a couple of beers and some Chernobyl wings. Glad there was no one behind me.

Random stuff:

Carousel rumors...

Lunch = fried chicken, hotdogs, beans, chips. Tiny cups = multiple refills.

The yellow jackets are mad.

Bart thought CF inherited a good park and a good staff - food buildings top notch - no safety issues.

Incident on the porch at Wings. Some lady and her family lit up in front of the no smoking sign. Cowboy Bill called her out on it before I could get the picture.

What happened to the Skytower windows ?!?




All in all, a good day. Cedar Fair is definitely committed. 2010 sounds irresistible.

Yes, the inflatable is what I believe they were talking about, but then again I may have been distracted by that kid in front of me...

The Skytower windows look as if someone tried to clean them and something went wrong; they're hard to see out of in some spots.

Forgot to mention that CF supposedly has a five year plan for the park, but the staff is only aware of what is in store for year one (2010).
