Bye Bye Nick Land
It’s no news now that Nick Central will totally be transformed into the world of Peanuts next year. I’m so looking forward to greeting Linus, Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the rest of the gang. I will miss seeing the hilariously tall Little Bill with his oversized globe-like head. I’ll also miss the name, Danny’s Phantom Flyers. Silly me will probably still be calling it that for a while.
Looking forward to the Intimidator aka White Lightning – lol
I believe I will be adding this ride to my roughest, wildest roller coaster list. So far, The Hulk at Islands of Adventures is at the top. Our line was about an hour and thirty minutes. Once boarded, the speedy green monster kept going and going and going, even after they slowed us down a few seconds, the brilliant speeds returned. My eyes and mouth completely dried out and I lost my breath several times. We happened to rode through a light cloud of sand—which hurt my face because of our high speeds. I only had a small amount of hair on my head, but my poor little fro was even messed up by the time the ride finally stopped. Do I really want to take on Carowinds’ finest after all that? You bet your sweet potatoes with marshmallows I do!
Music Scores
Let’s hope the music coordinators of the new kiddy area do a much better job in 2010, and on. They obviously weren’t paying close attention when they picked their 2009 choices. There was a male singer who made a reference to drinking wine; a group proclaimed proudly, “We go in the hay… We rumble, tumble both night and day… You better hold on tight and pray…†And what about the popular "Take Me Away" drug tune where the singer is obviously having significant other problems but proudly announces she has a pocket full of sunshine that will take her to a place of better days, and tells the substance to take her away. Wow! If these type tunes are allowed they may as well introduce Puff The Magic Dragon and H.R. Puffin’stuff to the kid area as well. Let’s hope for more appropriate song choices for the future—for the children.
My favorite soundtrack was played on the main path from Nick Central to The Cobra. It was an array of 60s – 90s tunes which included orchestrated selections from hit feature films. The music coordinators nailed that score. It was excellent! My second choice was The Boardwalk area. Gotta love that ole’ beach music! They did another great job on that score as well!
All right everyone, what was your favorite Carowinds area soundtrack?
