Baker says with the exception of some improvements, no major changes will be made to the park's current layout.

Sounds.... possible. Since Nick has been looking for a park to call their own. They recently backed out of a deal to reopen the former Six Flags new orleans because of issues with the investors. Myrtle Beach seems a much better location, especially since they are outta Carowinds next year. Also, Nick has a better appeal and draw than a music concept.. especially for the kids.

Is nick still part of MTV? If so, they could keep some of the music elementsand have some adult names for placement on some of the bigger rides... namely, the Time Machine.

Where did you get this information because I have only heard that the park might be up for sale for 40 million dollars , If Nick does come in and buy the park and seeing how well they are doing in Mall Of America I think that Myrtle Beach would be a better location for their first ever outside theme park.

I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens

Wow, that would suck. I would hate for Time Machine to get a nick theme, and for the soundtrack to get taken out.

But TBH, I don't think the park is gonna get sold. FMP is currently holding a contest for 2010 season passes, why would they sell after doing something like that?

When I visited the park we loved every single ride there was and while talking to some guy in a guitar shop we got this info. He said that the park was planning on expanding and that the first thing that would be built would be a water park. After that he spoke about some kind of giant coaster taller that the Time Machine that would feature a huge drop but no inversions. My dad wished him well and then we left. My only question is:
WHERE DO THEY HAVE ROOM TO EXPAND?

One of the ways Carowinds expanded was by filling in all of Pirate Islands water and the Sternwheeler lagoon (except for a tiny bit), so my guess would be FMP will end up filling in the lake when push comes to shove.

And does Myrtle Beach really need another water park? I know, I know......that's what brings in the crowds. But with a fairly large one a mile away I would rethink that strategy.

They also have a huge parking lot that wraps around the park

When Hard Rock built the park they only took 50 acres of land leaving the park with 100 acres left that includes the parking lot plus across the street at the old wacamaw buildings

I was just at Myrtle beach this past weekend and didn't noticed any work being done as far as building a water park or a new ride or two but that don't mean they wont try to do it they have announced that they will be opening sometime in March so stay tuned to their face book page for the latest info

The suit claims the owners of Freestyle are using the Mini trademarks on their motorcar roller coaster and have ignored a cease and desist letter dated Nov. 3, 2009.

Umm the park was closed by the time that letter was sent.
