Was announced today that Six Flags has rejected the lease with the Kentucky State Fair Board. The park has cease operations and the company will move expeditiously to re-locate employees and several of the more than 40 rides and attractions to one of its 13 other markets.

Have some coasters that will help in the 50th year celebration in 2011 now. Would say the woodies will be torn down for sire is my guess and I doudt the Shuttle Loop will ne relocated anywhere. Rest are far game and could this be the end of T2? You can find all the info you need on the link above.

Looks like I got 4 "never gonna get 'em again" credits out of this place - Hellevator, Thunder Run, one of the Twins, and Greezed' Lightnin'. I didn't bother with T2 since it was supposed to be one of the worst SLCs, and Mind Eraser @ SFA was enough to satisfy my curiosity on that breed. The fact that the much smaller, non-looping version we have at Carowinds is almost as rough didn't help my opinion of Vekoma inverts either. It will suck to lose another Schwarzkopf, and Thunder Run was certainly an enjoyable enough ride. Will this leave Montezooma as the only Scwharzkopf shuttle looper running in the US?

I can't say I'm surprised this place died off. The plot of land they were stuck with was horrible, with the need for The Damn Bridge due to the access road. Whether due to that or poor design, this place had more dead ends and featureless paths than any other park I've been to by a large margin. Not controlling the parking lot, and having to share it whenever there were big events at other parts of the complex also had to hurt.

T2 will probably be put in storage at Great Escape like her sister coaster did when Astroworld shut down. The shuttle loop will probably be scrapped though I love to see that thing built at some boardwalk somewhere on the east coast. :D The Roller Skater will probably go to Six Flags St. Louis due to their need for family coasters. Another Mr. Six DanceMachine?

KDcoasterMAN, what coaster is that pictured in your avatar? It looks like a wooden coaster.

In addition to what Jarsh said: It's in storage @ Great America so that would be the likely contender at the moment.
