while yes those would fit the beach themeing of the area, I don't think I can honestly say it would really fit the name of the coaster. I could be wrong, if I had something to look at and see how the scheme was pulled off though.

I'm partial to the original themeing as well. I've always felt that the color schemes over the past 10-15? years never really fit in with the rustic station. Even though that "rustic" appeal works really well with wood, I think it probably worked for Cyclone when it first opened...think Tennessee Tornado at DW

The rustic look was perfect for the original theme. And for the coastal area can still work well with the right colors. Now if they would add back in the tunnel oh and some new trains similar to Cobra would be incredible!

Two rides at Carowinds were better with tunnels - Cyclone, and Rip Roarin' Rapids. I'd love to see both return, although I highly doubt it'll ever happen on the rapids, and it's only slightly more likely on Cyclone.

When I really liked the tunnel on Cyclone was on night ride since it got totally dark in there. Now it seems sorta odd, much like the spots on Goldrusher that look like they should be covered, but aren't.

They took the tunnels from cyclone out due to a problem with bees, so it's a good guess that we won't see them again. But yes, I agree, it seems to be a little lacking without them.

As for sccoasterbear's comment about the trains from Cobra, that would be great ... those old trains from the cyclone are way too small for someone like myself [6' 5] to fit in one of the back seats, and they're definitely not the most comfortable.

I would looove to see the Rip Roarin Rapids tunnel come back. Ahh childhood memories.

100% agree Rapids needs the climax of the cave. That is a big part of what made the ride....hmmm even midcourse cave would be better than none.

Was at the park for a bit last night, it appeared all the blue and black paint was on cyclone still, and I could not see vortex so no news on its status.
