By doing this you conserve space, pact more attractions into the smallest amusement park in the CF chain, and utilize an otherwise useless space.

I don't think Carowinds is the smallest CF park.

Gilroy Gardens (Gilroy, CA) is the smallest Cedar Fair Theme Park (outside of the water parks) @ 75 acres. Carowinds comes in as second smallest.

Y'all are too freakin picky and anal about anything that is said on these forums. Grow up. You know what I mean. The point is its a small park compared to their MAJOR ones that bring in the huge $$$. And since they are trying to make Carowinds a "Must Go To" destination in the South and given its size, space is limited. Its not like we are Kings Island and have about 10+ acres of woods right in the park to expand on and build a "Diamondback". Unless if Carowinds does happen to build a parking deck or buy some land, there is no much elsewhere to go and build. Take it how you like.

And LocoDriver, your post was pointless and I hope you realize that now.

Well technically.... They could expand a few different ways... They could take out the camp ground and expand 25 acres. or even take out more of the parking lot if they really wanted too. Just saying :P

Realistically though would they do it. Not likely. While Camp Wilderness campground may not get super super busy, it is open year around and does bring in a good bit of $$. Not to mention it keeps potential guests during the open season on the grounds so they could spend more money on Carowinds and merchandise and etc. Yes parking lots are one way, but think for just a second. Intimidator is quickly being viewed as the best coaster in the US for 2010. Meaning big business, big crowds, filled parking lots. During events such as 4th of July, Joyfest, Sonfest, and Halloween there is no available parking spaces as it is. During events like that people even park at Plaza de Miserable Mall and business across Carowinds Blvd and walk all the way to the front gate. Trust me I saw it last year. And with Intimidator eliminating more parking, things are going to get crazy. It might be as bad as trying to go to the mall on Christmas Eve. Another reason why Carowinds should buy back the land the plaza mall is on and build a huge butt parking garage there and use more parking lot to expand on.

Anyways back to the matter at hand, my point is the layout of the Carowinds plot of land is not exactly ideal for future expansion without trading off something else (whether it be a ride or parking spaces or campground area).

NOW bring the topic back around I don't foresee anything else being really done for the 2010 season. Maybe I am just skeptical but I like to try to be more realistic.

So here is something to think about. This year is 60 years of the Peanuts Gang. Snoopy is 60 years old. Dani has said that there will be an event to help Celebrate Snoopy and Charlie Brown's birthday. Could that be the Exciting Announcement?

Here you can listen to her speak on a podcast: http://behindthethrills.com/index.php?o ... r-near-you

YAY Snoopy!!!!!

Ok..so far, we just have the 2 show's???? Snoopy Rock's on Ice & Marty's Party
Is there gonna be a 3rd show in front of the Gr8 skate ride this year??

AND..........Come on Carowinds......The Plaza Stage need's to be used.
They need to bring back the Karaoke Show. Karaoke is very entertaining with suprising talent. Entertainment is in need.

For all of those who are hyped up that this announcement will be a new ride, leme go ahead and let the wind out of your sails. It wont be. Why would they announce that this late? A new ride announcement is a season pass seller and they would do that as early as possible like they did with Intimidator. This announcement prolly is something along the lines as the Starlight show, or some Nascar tie in, maybe free admission to the Hall of fame with your season pass.

Wouldn't it be cool if the announcement was new trains for cyclone ( like cobra's)
Cyclone is getting a new color scheme for it's 30th B day. ( wishful thinking) LOL

Yeah....the paint job for Cyclone is very old news. I was hoping for new trains for cyclone. I guess we'll all have to wait and see.

But as far as colors. i think Purple, Green, Blue, and yellow would look nice. It's just so hard to tell. LOL

I didn't like Cobras trains. Since there was nothing there to stop my head, it went farther to each side and it would be much easier to strain someones neck. Plus, Cobra was worse then sidewinder at hershey
