@rcdifreak - What would be the daily costs of running the AC if that building were converted into an indoor coaster? It obviously already has the capabilities of running the AC, but how different would it be if all the walls were taken out and the if the building was possibly expanded?

If you look at the cost/benefits (keeping in mind that the coaster has to be very exhilarating and entertaining), this is definitely the best thing to do with that building.

Actually I don't know that... I'm just making things up. :D But it seems like it would fill the space perfectly while fitting into the area quite nicely.

Um well to be honest with you....I would have no clue. But I get what you are saying. Here is something else to think about too, Side A is the only side running, The doors open and close one Side A too many times to count in one day, the arcade exit has no doors, would seem more economical to build an indoor coaster in there to reduce the cost of running the AC since they are losing a good bit of it through the open doors. I can say this. I know some people who would work in there, and they would always have to wear a hoodie or a jacket or extra clothes since it was sooo cold in there. Feels good if you're a guest and getting out of the heat. But after ten minutes of it, you kinda start begging with your supervisor to go outside just to get some heat.

I know everyone has there opinions but i really like AFX compared to some other attractions the park has.

Since everyone is talking about the Action Theater. Why Not keep it? It's still a nice attraction with AC.
What they should do is either remove the exit/arcade part of the ride; or open it up on the opposite side and that way, they could use it as a tunnel to access the parking lot side of Thunder Road. ( For future expansion)

Oh yeah..the name Boos Blasters on boos hill sucks. They should have just named it Carowinds Haunted Mansion.

I must be the only one baffled how the park can expand just by taking the Action Theatre out? Thunder Road would have to leave too or else it would be pointless as the space between Afterburn and TR is too small, and then if you do get behind the action theater then Carowinds Blvd is close.

well the thought is to destory South Gate and expand from their to the end of where the parking lot is beside T-Road, AFX, and the South Gate. I do agree that the proximity of Carowinds Blvd could limit what, where, and how things are added there but it is a simple solution to a much more complex issue.

Here's something to think about. How about go the Kings Dominion route and expand the waterpark underneath Thunder Road and into the "V-Shaped No Man's Land" of parking. It gives PLENTY of room for several new slide complexes and enough room to give the waterpark a MUCH needed route for expansion for the near future if planned right.

I know Saturator is done for but hey maybe Carowinds could help FreeStyle out by buying the Soak'd coaster kinda like Flying Saturator and actually have it part of the new addition to the waterpark and also build one of those freefall water slides....talk about SCHWEET!

agree, freefall all the way

So lets just list some things that should be in the new addition to the water park:

1. Soak'd from FreeStyle
2. A freefall slide
3. A bowl-slide (Idc it could be one with a tube your just freebody)
4. Either a Tornado Slide or a Tantrum Slide....both are similar yet different...but one is needed.

I think that would be more than easy enough to fit all of that in that space. Not to mention you could almost place Soak'd in the existing park space given for the water park kinda next to T-Road and some of the grassy area there.

This clears up specualtions. Thank you Dani, you are already missed. Sadly, I was hoping Spongebob would be gone after 5 years. Maybe that's just me, but I would really like to see Days of Thunder return although I realize that would be a fat chance since that is a Paramount owned movie.
