Question:

My parents are considering taking me on one trip to a park other than Carowinds this summer. Out of KD and SFOG, which do you suggest?

Yeah, KD is sooo my first choice. Just wanted feedback.

Quality of coasters? (sfog)
Number of coasters? (kd)
Flat rides? (even)
Overall park experience?

Can't go wrong either way. Grizzly and Volcano are two great coasters, not to mention I305. But Goliath, Mind Bender, and Scorcher are great too.

I have been to both parks many times, and while SFoG is probably overall the better park (and better looking), I find myself enjoying the time I spend at Kings Dominion more.

Other than those two parks, if you wish to journey farther north their is HerseyPark. And ofcourse Kings Island is within a reasonable driving distance. Dollywood is great too...

I think my better overall experience was at SFoG. Goliath, Scorcher, and Superman are all great. Batman, Mindbender and GASM are also fun. Ninja is pretty meh but not bad. The cyclone however, is horribale. Spare yourself. SFoG's atmosphere is better too IMO.

No matter which of those you do end up going to, here is a word of advice: Avoid going on the weekend if at all possible. If you think Carowinds gets busy, you haven't seen anything yet til you go to either of those on a Saturday. You will wait, and wait and wait. Last time I went to SFOG on a Saturday, I waited 2.5 hours for Goliath and Superman.
