General Carowinds discussion

I remember reading while back how we were talking about having a staff member out in front the line enterance to a ride with a "stick" to see if a child is tall enough to ride the ride. I also remember reading that Dani said that they do that sometimes. Well, I thought about maybe they could do what K.D does (if they still do that) I havent been to the park for about 10 years. But I remember after entering the park, If children were going to ride rides, they had like a height station, where they messure the child and then they put a color wrist band on. Then when you to a ride, if you didn't have that color wirst band on, you couldn't ride because you weren't tall enough. Could Carowinds do something like that?

^Carowinds does have that. When you enter in the park via the north gate, to the left of the fountian there is a height wall. There is usually a ride associate stationed there on busy days during busy hours, they don't force you there but the option is there. Otherwise you can ask for a wrist band at the first ride you go to that you/the child meets height requirments.

Really...I honestly didn't know...Then again, soon as I get there I hit the coasters or water park....If that is the case, maybe if they were to move it like in the middle, parents may see it (if they didn't know)....Now I feel stupid...

In the years past when I take my daughters the ride associates are really good at giving them a wristband, usually at the first ride they go on. I really like this, especially when I dont have to ask.

Don't feel stupid bobbysmagic.
It was a perfectly good question, and it helps our guest's day run smoother.
New for this year, The Intimidator pit-crew members will be taking turns working that Wall. It's right beside Guest Services and I'm looking forward to working it. I left kiddie land this year (with regret) to work the speed track, and to my surprise, I found that I'd be working with the kids again at the Height Wall. Pretty Awesome, ayy?

We were told to grab the attention of the parents and guardians of small children for the reason that they might miss the Wall entirely, but we can't make them come over for their child's height band. We'll try to get as many banded as we can, but even with that we'll still miss some. Don't try to put us out in the middle of the entry way, though. We like shade too.
