On the Sunday, March 21th, the Intimidator pit crew will finally be allow to ride. See if you can ride with us GriffonBoy69 so you won't have to wait in a 3 hour line.
We find out what time we ride on Saturday, the day before.

Yes, we are the luckiest people in the world!

Well what is the point of the first rider auction? They should call it the 50th ride auction or something. I will wait my turn on sunday.

I wanted to pick a day but not sure what Satueday is.

I plan on being there opening day with all the crazies from the Breakfast Club. :D
It does not bother me how crowded they will be as I am looking forward to seeing some excited faces and feel a better atmosphere than I have for a while. Plus, with the pass we get to go ahead early to get in line so I don't worry about the wait and with a long season ahead I will see many Sunday mornings and get plenty of ride times.

Inquire about that on Saturday, the day before. Our pit-crew is waiting for our time to come also.
Have I met you yet?

Hold on to your lap bar, now.
As you know from this very site, people have already been riding. We are not the first. It's only fair that we get to experience our ride so we can converse with guest about it. We are not considered the public. We will be working during the auction rides.

~PhantomCat secures carowinds4ever's lap bar on The Intimidator to ride and feel the wind, to chill out.

Yes, Nitro,
When public school is out for the summer, the #42 runs regularly to Carowinds. It turns on the road behind Carowinds, stops at the employee entrance, then drives on to drop off and pick up our guest. The regular #42 only has three trips in the morning on weekdays, but only stops on the corner of Carowinds Blvd. and that road that goes behind Carowinds (whatever the name of it is) where the employees enter and where the Carowinds employment office is.

I don't know why, but CATS hasn't bothered changing the #42 schedule from last year. Presently the only thing right on it are the 3 trips in the morning, and the 3 trips headed to the Light-Rail at I-485 in the afternoon. There are no scheduled trips from I-485 in the afternoon, only going to it from a business park on Carowinds Blvd. You can catch the regular #42 on weekdays on the opposite side on Carowinds Blvd in the afternoon for one of the 3 trips back to I-485 to the Light-Rail.

If you still want to venture out to the park at a different time and have no other way, ride the Light-Rail to the Arrowood Station and catch the #56R, ("R" is for RiverGate and make sure you have 56R because there is another bus 56 with a different letter and direction.) You will have a 30 min. ride to Carowinds' Blvd - ring the bell for the next stop on South Tryon when you pass Jack in the Box on your right. From there you have a 30 min. walk up Carowinds Blvd to the road behind Carowinds where you will turn left at the back of Thunder Road. If you are going to play in the park, walk on up the back road at Carowinds till you reach the North Gate. This may seem extreme, but there are dedicated Carowinds employees who make this trek all the time.

To help raise money for charity. That's why it's called the Intimidatorâ„¢ First Ride Charity Auction.
And by the way, Intimidator won't be running on Sunday, we're going to wear it out on Sat.

You are too funny but I know what you mean.
After training last Saturday I was so tired. We must have run that coaster about 100 times. When I awoke Sunday morning to go to church my body replied,"You want to do what? Where do you think you're going?" My muscles all over were screaming. When I finally got up I took so long to get ready I was an hour late, and that's with having set my clock to daylight savings time the night before.

But it's gonna get easier. I have the right ride to help me shed pounds, and get me ready for my P90X fitness program. It just arrived today in the mail.

I felt the same way, it was quite a work out but I'm ready for it. I didn't feel it much while working but afterwards it all caught up to me.

I'm actually just as excited to see everyone else experience the ride on opening day as I am for just riding it.

To be clear, I work with Anthony at the ride as well. He mentioned this site to me and I had already browsed around it a little, but never got around to registering until last Saturday. I'm new to the Carowinds scene, but pretty familiar with the amusement industry.
