Funny you mention that I remember last year on opening day that it was washed out as well....the only time where I saw Carowinds close early due to weather and hand out rain-checks/ reactivate everyone's tickets that had to leave early that day to visit the park another day. I know this cause I came in to play at the park that day. Although most of the coasters shut down REALlY early there was hardly anyone in the park. lol. I fear opening days for Carowinds are plagued to be rainy. Heck even opening day for the park in '73 was washed out too.

You guys have it wrong. You want opening day to start off cloudly, cool, and rainy. This chases away the less dedicated. The perfect scenario is for it to warm up and dry up right about 10am, but still look like rain - then to have the sun come out by early afternoon after many people have already ditched plans for going to the park that day.

If it's 75 and sunny on the 27th, Carowinds is going to be a freaking madhouse with the opening of Intimidator. It was cloudy and in the 40s for BORG's opening, and that sucker had a 3 hour line before noon. True, this was due in part to it's usual capacity problems and one-train operation, but people were still willing to wait that long to try it. The line was well out of the queue and wrapping around behind the skytower.

Maybe having a large portion of these peeps stuck in pass processing for the morning will save us if the weather is nice

The whole entire queue line is now surrounded by sod! At this rate, it'll be done in a few days. They are putting it down like a kid plays with Legos. ( That was a weird simile...)

Have you even asked if you can camp out there? I'm sure they are pretty strict. Unless you are staying in the camp ground of course.

True.... I hate lines, but I want opening day to be a huge success....

Yeah I agree, jordN. Now that we have a slice of this pie lol, wouldn't it be nice to have a huge successful opening day on the lines of like some of our sister parks....Cedar Point, KI, KD.....I would really like a picture of a huge line for intimidator that stretches through out the park much like the one for Diamondback at KI. I wouldn't mind standing in a line like that because it would be a first for Carowinds to have that huge of a response. And before anyone really mentions it, the line for Borg/hawk may have been big but consider how slow and unreliable that ride is. Now we will have a truly competent ride as well as the operating crew. So with a huge line wrapping around most of the park would say to me, "Carowinds is finally in the Big Leagues now," Not "well everyone in Charlotte is waiting on a broken down ride."

I wouldn't put much stock in the 10 day forecast at this point. It's an ok benchmark to get in the ballpark. It says showers, which could mean anything. Ok, I just looked again and now it's supposed to be sunny and mid 60's. I looked earlier and there was showers on Friday and Sat, now only on Friday, so that shows you how much that could change in the next week. Guess I should prepare for the 2 hr wait when I get there early afternoon.

Had to go to Charlotte earlier today so I decided to take a few pics of Intimidator while I was there. This is the first time i've seen the new coaster since Scarowinds. Definitely A LOT bigger in person than in the pics. I was actually kind of suprised how many people sit in their cars at the mall parking lot waiting to see if they run the coaster or not. Unfortunately, they didn't in the five minutes I was there. Hopefully they will next weekend:

Anyone else notice that every time it rains they will only test run a max of 2 trains? Sod looks nice. Now if we could just get a better webcam that can handle the traffic and such

Oh and looks like all of the "new" trash cans have been installed around Timmy
