I threw Carowinds Connection together fairly fast near the end of the 2003 season because there was a lot of buzz about the possibility of a new coaster, and I wanted there to be a place to discuss and keep an update on construction if that happened. I wasn't really sure if the forums would take off, and I can now admit that I never expected them to grow as they have. With that said, I may significantly upgrade this site sometime in the future (probably the summer), and I need your input on what you think an amusement park guide/fansite needs. Please post your thoughts and ideas on what you want to see (content-wise) on the site. Thanks!

Jon, I'm not much of a complainer but I would like to have Forums like CZ and more spread out but not as much! I would like a section for all paromount parks and rollercoaster forums as Nolimits or RCT!
I would also like a live chat room that everyone could talk to like Yahoo!
This would be all to suit me.JUST A MORE SELECTION!

Please keep the suggestions related to the content of the site, and not the forums. I don't really have any plans to change the forums at this time.

Lots of pictures, and factual information (who made it, when did it open, how fast does it go, etc.) I would also like a section for past maps and brochures much like <a href='http://www.pcwjunkies.com/pcw/vault/mapguide.htm' target='_blank'>this one</a>. If I think of more, I'll post.

PS- The forums are FINE, haven't you ever heard of the KISS method?

I will add to his/her comment by asking this of every ride in the park not just the coasters. For a quick job you sure did it well. I have no bad things to say about this site.

P.S. Also add info like how much gum can be seen while waiting in line for cyclone .

Jonathan I can help out with the takeing of photos and such if you are going to do this. I have nothing better to do in the park. That is after being in the park for a while. If you are intrested and you have a digital cam then we could meet and figure out who takes what pictures of the park. It would be better then haveing everyone submit pictures and not haveing them in order.

I have around 800+ pictures of Carowinds from 2003. They include every attraction, eatery, shows, characters, signs, and general sites along with Scarowinds but not the bathrooms!!!!
I also have around 5-6 hours of video that go along with the pictures, and have just started to sort thru it separating the different parts of the park by section and attraction.
My sole purpose for this was to post it all on my web site, which won't be up for quite a while. So, I know the expense of space and bandwidth on the net and, if you are willing Jonathan I can give them all to you for use here and can help in the financing if needed. I royally suck at programming sites because I really just don't want to learn so if I ever get my site going I will refer the Carowinds section here and keep my site as I wanted it, for me and my Family to exchange digital stuff without mailing or making copies.
I use a Sony DCR-TRV22 MiniDV Handycam and other than a few goofs from messing with it the pictures and video are great.

One of the best fansites around, that greatly helped me out on my first visits to the park, is Robert Ulrich's <a href='http://playride.com/tug2sfog/' target='_blank'>SFOG site</a>. It lists attack plans for the park, where to stay, where to eat, where to sit on various rides, etc.

This is pretty much what Forseer suggested, but should give you an idea of one that's done that kind of thing very well.

Having a bit more info for visitors to the park would be great. I think many of the people who I've seen post on RRC and forums didn't know, for example, to ride the back-corner seats on Top Gun for the best ride - with the right side being the best. Ditto Hurler and the front car, things like that.

Many of us know full well how to hit the park on a Sunday morning and ride everything before 2pm - and could give our "plans of attack" on how we accomplish that. Of course we'll have to figure a few new ones out, with BORG and the new ERT system. We should have some good ideas about where to eat in the park, and outside. One problem area might be hotels - most of us probably don't stay in them to know - but we might ask friends who have to travel to the park about their experiences at them - at least we can put which ones are where if nothing else.

As coaster enthusiasts we certainly like seeing the pictures of all of Carowinds coasters. Maybe each month you can call for Carowinds fans to send you their best photo of a particular coaster in the park and post the top 3.

One thing I may add. If this site is heading out to be the true Carowinds information board, I would suggest, under your rides link, to have a photo of every ride, not just the coasters. The thrill rides and kiddie rides could certainly use a boost. We could all certainly help you gather the photographs.

We should all get together for a day at the park this summer and take pictures of all of us at the park. Then post them on the site.
