I didn't get a high five today :(
I went around 4 today, mostly to ride other rides I haven't ridden yet this season like drop tower, ricochet, and some others. I got to Intimidator around 5:40 and got to ride it twice, once in row 3 and then in row 11. The last ride we were the 2nd to last train and when we returned to the station there was no one in line so everyone on the ride was yelling "one more!" but they didn't let us :( . oh well. The ride was good today though, both trims were on, the second seemed to slow the train down a good bit.

I remember your train. Sorry you didn't get your high five, we must've not crossed paths because I know I was trying to high five everyone.

Jason, as per the terms of service here and also my responsibility under Carowinds I think its safest to not comment. Sorry. :(

I'll have to look for you next time I go. I might go tomorrow by myself if the line doesn't look too long on the webcam. What's your name so I know who to look for?

My roommate and I went this morning and were able to get in 12 rides within 2 hours. We only left cause we were hungry and weren't about to pay park prices for food.

As for the pit crew, you guys were freakin' awesome today! The energy was great, everyone was in high spirits, and you were cranking the trains out left and right as full as possible.

My only criticism is, I've always liked how the announcers on the rides at Cedar Point (both coasters and flat rides) use the stats and facts of the ride when pumping up the crowd. For instance, "we'll be taking you up 232 feet and sending you at 80 miles per hour through 5,316 feet of track on the tallest, fastest, longest coaster in the southeast." Something like that.

Blue, and Anthony I didn't know if you all working yesterday, but I was the guy that pointed out the hand rail at the top of the stairs was broken, and the next time i got on I noticed it was fixed with some zip ties.

It really depends on whose on the mic as to what seems to be said. They get the main point across(loose items, open box, pull down lap bar, etc.) then kind of adlib the rest to make each ride a different experience. Some were talking about the ride, some about Carowinds, some about sports...just depends on the personality, and it mixes it up so its not the same thing every time.

That was me you told, unless there were other occurrences of other people telling other associates. Were you in the front row?

Sorry I couldn't really say much more than thanks though, we were busy and I had to stay focused. :)

About the mic talk, you will hear ride stats from time to time. It's just that the other things you have been hearing are much more important and need to be recited every cycle in order to maintain a high enough capacity as possible.

Intimidator was flying through the heat this afternoon, and the crew was flying through the lines (Anthony, superb as always). Rode twice - a walk-on in the single line, 10 minute wait in the queue. Riders were instructed to keep their shoes with them rather than clustering up the bins; it seems they're trying to address the 'which flip-flops are mine' bottleneck.

The grass is slowly filling in:

That air did not want to let go of me today, it followed me all the way down every hill.

I am a day late on this but I went Sunday afternoon and was there in the 3 to 5:30 range. The wait was awesome. I waited anywhere from as little as 3 minutes up to almost 15 minutes one time and that was in the single rider lane. I moved much quicker in the regular line and the average wait was 5-10 minutes. I rode a total of 10 times. It was my second trip this season to the park and my first time in the very front and the very back. Like it was said before by others, the front is amazing for the view and lots of wind. I knew the back was going to whip me over the top but I was not expecting how forceful it would be. Not a bad forceful by any means, it was great. I was able to ride the back row twice. I agree with others that the best airtime is in the 4th and 5th row area and I liked the way that the ride is different in every section of the train. On my 4th or 5th ride, I asked for the front and my request was granted with no problem.

I got to ride 5 times today before my shift started. It's so much better riding without rain pelting me in the face. I rode once in the back car and then at random spots near the middle. What a great way to start my day. :D

So, what's the point of paying money to install spot and lift hill lights for the coaster if you're not even going to turn them on? :? I know the park isn't open right now but it just seems odd seeing the whole park lit up except for Intimidator.

Edit: And of course right after I post this, they turn off most of the lights in the park that were on just a few minutes ago.

Prolly just budgeting money to have them on all summer long during full time operation. I mean I haven't seen the lift hill "running" lights on either on the webcam.

I was there this past Saturday and something was not right. I saw at least 3 trains with 5 empty seats each and the single rider line was down past the bottom of the steps. It did get better after that though.

I think I have figured out why there are sometimes one or two empty seats on trains. I saw it happen a few times while I was in line. The guests tell the ride ops that there are X number of people in their party. The ride ops assign them a row and add one of the single riders. The party then decides they want to ride all together or in another seat and actually move to another row. The guests are at fault here.

I also saw several folks not being able to ride because the restraints would not lock down enough. This is one reason I think the single rider line should have been on the exit side of the station. That way, instead of all the counting the ride ops have to do now to fill the trains, they could just fill the empty seats on a train from the single rider line and every train would be full until the single rider line was empty.

I know on both Friday and Saturday when I rode the Intimidator, the single rider line always took longer than the regular line. I always looked for a person that got in the regular line the same time I got in the single rider line -- they always got on the ride before I did. The single rider line was at the bottom of the stairs each time I got into it.
