Its about that time of the year again when we start to think about the next new ride. I believe Carowinds for next year will be getting some type of a ride that will have something to do with water. I believe this as the park does now lack (2) water rides, the lost our Log Flume and our Flying Super Saturator. With the park only haveing (2) water rides to offer Rip Roarin' Rapids and WhiteWater Falls, Even though those two rides are great the problem is you'll end up waitting about an hour to ride Rip Roarin' Rapids and don't get me wrong BUT Whitewater Falls could be a little longer ride time? Of coruse we have the waterpark but (as of right now, its closed and thats no FUN). Now I'm not saying we going to get something thrilling like what Cedar Point getting but maybe something like Dollywood's River Battle or something along those lines...

Or if they want, they could pack up Hyper Sonic that is still (last time I read) laying in a field and give us a launch coaster!~\ . Hey think of it this way it would fit the racing theme?

Any other ideas, I only believe that if they were to give us Hypersonic is because it would be a lot cheaper then to built a new ride.....but I know its not going to happen...Dang it

I think the park's next ride will be a flat in Intimidators field. I'd rather it be something in the Thrill Zone area though, it's so dry back there.

I agree. Thrill zone is...well lets be honest here...dieing, if not already dead. I think it would be great if they tore down Scream Weaver and moved it right beside Cobra. It would fit really well there and give that part of the park a refreshing and interesting look: One side looking in to the water park and the other being menaced by Scream Weaver and Cobra. By doing that you can make way for a new flat ride where Weaver sits now. To be honest the only times I have seen Weaver's line at least 1/8 filled is on BIG Saturdays, like a holiday, 4th of July, and sometimes at night during SCarowinds. At least by doing that you can try and do CPR into that region of the park. The only other things that I could see that would pump the Thrill Zone up would be expanding the park that direction, getting rid of Hurler for another coaster, giving Hurler the new Timberline trains, or getting rid of SkyFlyers for a new ride (this one I would hate the most bc I love SkyFlyers).

However, that being said, I honestly think that a new flat will make its way into the field beside Intimidator really, really, really soon. But I wouldn't toss out the idea of another coaster coming to Carowinds for 2011. I know this is just a wish but I try to be optimistic while being realistic. If Carowinds were to get another coaster for 2011 though, I would say it would most likely be small, compact, and family oriented since we haven't seen any signs of construction or demolition being done in or around the park. However, time will only tell...

While these rides are very fun, they are really REALLY low capacity.

I would like to see either a Screamin' Swing or Frisbee of some type in the Intimidator field. I really don't want to see anything removed (other than maybe Action F/X Theater). I also think Ricochet would do well with a paint job to match Cyclone's new paint.

Well while I don't tend to like seeing rides removed I think a ride like Shoot The Rapids opening this year at CP would work great in place of VORTEX. Or you could put it back where the Sky Coaster and go-carts are.

I also think they built that field in front of intimidator for reason. I would like to see something like Max Air (from CP ) sitting in the field, and it's a good fun ride.

I definitely feel that if CF is happy with the Po!nt's new flume, we'll see one at Carowinds. I think next year could be either a family or thrill flat or a waterpark addition. I think eventually there will be something in Intimidator's empty field. But what I'd really like to see is some paint on some coasters/rides, and for them to revamp the County Fair entrance .

When and if they Replace Vortex, it should be with a dive coaster like Griffon. It could easily fit there. My vote goes for removing scream weaver or the skyflyer for a better flat though. They could put a nice dark ride or water ride where skyflyer is.

Now I'm not opening a can of worms but for anyone who was at the Q and A session during CoasterStock will remember what the VP said about the removal of the Powder Keg flumes: "Sometimes we have to take a step backwards, to take 10 steps forward. But I promise you, one day water rides will return." This could be a big hint that while at the time may have been insinuating about the new ride at CP but it could also be an indication at what we could see with it the very near future for Carowinds...

I wouldnt mind seeing a new water ride just because the ones we have arent really that great. I wish they would modify rip roarin rapids someway or just take it out and put a shoot the rapids type ride there. I could see a thrill ride in that field as well, I just think it may be a bit crowded, but I guess its a lot bigger in person than it looks anywhere else. I think they should move the GR8 Sk8 ride and put it somewhere towards planet snoopy more that would open a lot of room for a delerium type ride...... I think it would fit better there than the gr8 sk8, but who knows. They need to remove YO YO and put some good swings back in or just build maybe a dark ride or something. County fair also needs what ever "county fair" has, a FERRIS WHEEL! Oh well there are a lot of different ideas, maybe one day our ideas would be considered haha.

Take this with a grain of salt: But I do believe that Intimidator was brought to Carowinds thanks to this site. I know the higher-ups watch this site closely to get a feel for what the community expects out of the Carowinds service to provide a better Carowinds experience. I know there is the joke about the hyper-under-the-bridge that has been around for a long time. I think one of the main reasons we finally now have our hyper is because there was a lot of talk about the joke for many years. I have faith that our dreams for the park are the dreams of all of the staff of Carowinds. The only thing is that it takes time sadly. So we just have to be patient.
