I dont know how often it breaks down but the last two times I was at the park the ride was down.
The second week of the season I seen it stuck on the return lift. It was stuck on there for a while. Today I noticed it valley right after the loop and the return lift.

Would have sucked to be on the ride at that time.

It valleyed there before last season. I think it was due to something along the lines of the E-Stop having to be hit because a guest causing complications near the platform. Have faith it will be opened very soon if it was valleyed.

2 out of the 3 visits that I have made to the park, Cobra has been broken down the majority of the day. I'm unsure what happened both times it did.

You just called a boomerang awesome. Somewhere a small, furry animal just died. :(

Boomerangs tend to be quite moody (aren't all Vekomas?). The #1 reason for a boomerang to valley would be the 2nd hill lift chain not catching the train. There's a proxy censor at the top of the 2nd lift that serves two purposes. One, when the train trips it, the chain lets go and it rolls back down the hill. Two, when the train trips it, the brakes at the bottom of the 2nd hill open so obviously the train can complete the course.

In the event that proxy doesn't get tripped, the brakes stay closed so that the train stops there instead of somewhere else on the course where it would be MUCH less convenient to unload trapped guests. Hope that helps explain it a bit.

lol I was going to comment on that but tried to refrain. Every boomerang I have ever ridden is probably in a tie for the worst coaster I have ever been on, possibly passed only by some stand ups and maybe an Arrow or Vekoma looper or two. I think this is the first time I have ever seen anyone say they enjoy one.

^You're working at RipCord this year, huh? I was there in '07 and '08, and as the team leader the 2nd year. The guy that's going to be the TL there this year learned everything he knows from me, so don't give him any trouble, or you'll face my wrath!

Nice. Is that Kingzoe?

Did you know Chris Thomson when you worked there? He sold me on Ripcord; I hear it's one of the best rides to operate. Working at a park is something I've always been interested in, and this is probably my last chance to do it (until I'm old and can work at Dollywood or Disney  ), so I decided to go for it. Not thrilled about going back to dorm life as I thought that ended for me 5 years ago, but it's all a part of the experience.

^Yep, Chris is a very good friend of mine. I started at the SkyFlyer at Carowinds before I went to CP, so I have 3 years under my belt. I can assure you they're WAY more fun to operate than basically anything else in the amusement industry. They also take a tad more training than most rides, but it's really easy to learn once you get the hang of things. Dorm life is the pits there, but if you're like me then you'll spend most of your off time somewhere other than the dorms.
