It certainly was an all-star sighting weekend for Carowinds Connection members visiting Carowinds this weekend. I'd like to thank each and every one of you who came by The Intimidator and introduced yourselves. It's much better to have a face to go along with the avatar.

Jonathan
Please let us know about your other Intimidator experience. :|

You sure are getting tall young man. Thank you for all of your park compliments Saturday. I know everyone you praised will appreciate it and they will hear about it. That was mighty big of you to walk through the park, gather up those names and their locations, and give those good reports. :D

Lil Gump
You look like you can be really hilarious when you want to. I picture you as the one in a group who causes everyone to laugh.

CoasterDad
Please consider adopting. I lost my dad a while back and I'm ready for another one. Can I be your new son? :)

Ride Warrior
The man with the really cool shades. 8) You definitely live up to your name. How many times did you get intemidated this weekend, 30? :o

It was also my first weekend as a new supervisor at Nighthawk, so that's reason for excitement! Even though I really don't "know" a ton of people on here, come on by and say hi, I'm pretty easy to spot over there. Just look for the really tall guy in a blue shirt with a name tag that says "Steve."

Awesome avatar, as I've told you before.
I saw you in The Intimidator booth for a brief second on Friday. Is there anything you'd like to share?

Bring your kids out. I'm sure they'd have a blast. But you look like a big kid yourself when you're all locked in and ready for your next Intimidation ride.

My kids do LOVE it! Abby had her first coaster ride when she was 3, on fairly odd coaster, and now Emma is 3 so she had her first ride on the lucy's cabbie or whatever. I hope by the end of the year they will ride woodstock express. Abby rode runaway reptar with me before 1 time but that was it. They do love the flyers....gliders.... I feel like a big kid when I am waitin for that next intimidator ride!!! haha. I just hope my kids will like coasters like I do.... I know my neice and nephew most likely will! :D By the time they are big enough for the big coasters, we will probaly have at least 4 new things added to the park. I need my own dang park...

You are so right my friend. Carowinds - the fun and only - just keeps getting bigger and changing all the time. I'm really looking forward to those 4 new rides.

Owning your own theme park is something I've seen mentioned on this site a few times now. My best suggestion, besides a degree in business management, is to play a few of the theme park video games they have out now and buy their walk through manuals as well. Back when I had my Sega Saturn I had a very neat game called Theme Park. That little game alone yielded so many marketing secrets on the theme park industry and even graded the parks once I designed them.

What I learned from the Theme Park video game:
1 For litter purposes, don't place restaurants or snack stands right at your front gate entrance. Your guests first impression of your park should be pleasant and compelled to explore further.
2 Add a little more salt to your foods so guest will buy more sodas.
3 Add more sugar in your ice cream to help guest stay hyper because hyper guest have more fun and guest having fun will spend more money. The goal was to empty their pockets of every cent they came in the park with.
4 Here's 1 Universal Studios practices in high gear: Place games and/or stores at the exits of exciting rides because excited guest are more apt to spend more money.
5 Split up your grounds crew to designated sections or they will congregate and talk instead of sweeping up the litter.

These are just a few of the things I've learned from that one game. Maybe you can still find it out there somewhere for the PC. Presently I own for the XBOX 360, RollerCoaster Tycoon, and Thrillville -Off the Rails where coasters are intentionally designed to fly off the track, eject the guest into the air which deploys their parachutes, just before the trains head downward and crash to the ground. I haven't played either of these, so, I can't tell you what insights they offer. Also, I've received several suggestions to improve Carowinds from guest who just wanted to express their feelings to someone. So, actually working in a park will also help you greatly.
