General Carowinds discussion

After it was removed, I remember seeing a photo of it being stored in a parking lot near the sky-coaster. What ever happened to it? Was this coaster sold, or is it still at Carowinds? I am sorry if this was already covered I am just curious. Just a suggestion, but maybe they could put it back up in the waterpark

I think this coaster became scrap if I am not mistaken. I dont remember how long after it opened that it valleyed, but it valleyed numerous times. Also, I dont know how long it was before all those water elements were turned down, but that pretty much made the coaster worthless when they did. This coaster probaly will not be put back up, ever. Maybe if freestyle closes forgood and never opens we will get their water coaster, I wonder if its any better than saturator. I thought the ride was good, at least when all the elements worked, but I knew that the idea of getting the coaster wet on purpose wasnt the greatest idea. I still rememe "flying super saturaot is now launching" I found some old pictures of saturator from 2002 a few days ago haha, back before I had a digital camera hahaha. The memories...

I asked where Super Saturator went last year at CoasterStock and I'm pretty sure the response I got was that it was scrapped.

Google Maps actually has Super Saturator in pieces from early last year click here to check it out.

I also have some pics from the short time it was over there.

And one from the Skytower:

As for Soak'd at Freestyle Music Park, that may be an even bigger piece of crap than Super Saturator was. Down constantly, TERRIBLE capacity, and not a very fun ride. At least Super Saturator was smooth.

Yea, I think that is where I remember them saying it was scrapped as well. I can see why the one at freestyle would be crap to, I just dont think the idea of getting a suspended steel coaster wet, constantly, was thouroughly thought through..... Nice concept but just not a good type of coaster...

I rode the Roller Soaker at Hershey in 2008, waited over an hour because it went down about 3 or 4 separate times while we were waiting. The only reason we stuck around and rode was because everyone left the line and we needed the credit. Otherwise, I wouldn't have thought twice about skipping it.

I would wait in upwards of a week for a coaster like that.

LOL, that would be great to shoot chocolate and other food items like that, heck colored water would have added some excitement to the saturator. Does the roller soaker still have the water spurts working like they should... makes me wonder what exactly happened to ours to make them turn the water down or whatever...

When I was there I'm pretty sure most of the effects were turned on, but not all of them. But my memory is a bit fuzzy. I know they at least had a few geysers going, cause one of them nailed me and got me drenched.
