Dear wonderful world of Carowinds Connection,
what would you like to see in the future of Carowinds? In complete detail, what do you dream about Carowinds having? For me, I'd love to see the park have some major improvements. By improvements, I mean repainting that which needs repainted, repaving that which needs repaved, adding new trains into coasters that need new trains (COUGHcycloneCOUGH), adding special effects to the rides. Overall I'd just like to see the park experience improve greatly.
I would love to see Carowinds transition from being a regular theme park to being an entertainment experience... Kind of like Pat Hall planned it to be.
I dream of Carowinds buying the shops by the freeway and transforming the entire plot of land into a resort like it was meant to be. (adding in a Disney-style monorail of course!)

This park has so much potential - it's in such a strategic location as well... Who knows what the future holds for Carowinds?

What do YOU dream of Carowinds becoming?

Maybe turn it back to the way it used to be, and theme the rides as "the history of the carolinas" They had a great start with the intimdiator becasue Dale Earnhardt is part of carolinas history.

Also, I know this was already covered and decided that Cedar Fair will never do it, but I really want to see thunderroad run backwards again. We should start a petition on that.

I'd love to see a couple quality flats (giant frisbee would be awesome if Huss wasn't broke), a modern woodie (in Hurler's place?), as well as some type of launched coaster (can you say Intamin terra?).

Justin - I really like your idea about theming it to the Carolina's. That's pretty interesting! Maybe they'll go back to that in the future?

Realistically I'd love to see a GCI and some type of launch for their next coasters.
I'd really like a few thrilling flats, some type of spinning pendulum ride, and maybe even a Top Spin.
I think they need to add some modern slides to the waterpark like the bowl and tornado slides.
I'm sure we'll see a Starlight Experience type attraction soon (I hope).
And for the next family area expansion, I'd love a Disk-O.

As for painting, the only rides left that absolutely need it are the Mouse and Afterburn. I think Vortex look fine, but then, I don't get close to Vortex.

And realistically, I don't see new trains or theming coming to existing rides, sadly.

The park already said they're removing the asphalt and putting down pavers over the next 5 years, so that's being done.

I too would mainly like to see some new thrill rides. I really want to see the parking lot beside thunder road become part of the park. I would like to see some more theming I guess, although I think the park looks really nice the way it is. I do think some more painting of the coasters and yes new trains on cyclone would be nice. The one other thing I would love to see is a transport ride like a chairlift type thing or something that goes from one side of the park to the other, just to eliminate so much walking. Not sure if our park is even big enough for this to happen but it would be nice to be able to ride instead of walk.... A launch coaster would definately be a plus in my book. I really need to get to some other parks and ride some of the different styles of rides that are out there. Hopefully within the next couple of years I will be able to make some trips. Maybe instead of a cruise I will just go to different parks in the US. I havent been anywhere but the pavilion and Carowinds. I did do an alpine style coaster in jamaica, that was sweet. I cant wait to see what is in store for the park in the coming years, whatever they have in store I am sure it will be great!

I actually wouldn't mind that at all. It would be very clever to build a few large parking garages to save space/expand the park to where the parking LOT was. That parking lot covers quite a few acres! Much of it goes unused throughout the season as well. It's a shame...

Parking < Rides

I think any type of parking garage in the next 10 years would be a
bad investment considering they are not cheap.
There is plenty of room still throughout the park....
To bad the lightrail doesn't reach to the park.

I was actually just thinking about that!
Maybe as Rock Hill grows, Charlotte will extend the light rail down there... It'll make it easier to get to and from the park. Though with the way Charlotte's handling the light rail, it would be more logical to imagine a troll giving piggy-back rides to and from the park.

Methinks this went over some people's heads...

Before Intimidator became official, all we had was the "rumored 2010 parking garage".

That would have been nice for the light rail to go to the park, of course I wouldnt be able to use it. They do have the bus that takes people from the south blvd station to the park though i believe it comes every 30min if I remember correctly....

Maybe we can get a ride to support all of our sports teams. Maybe a coaster with blue supports and black track with white trains for the panthers (I would say blue track and black supports, but we had those colors for cyclone too long). And maybe a orange and blue coaster for the bobcats.

Something like this for a panthers coaster would be nice:
