Carowinds used to have a Monorail.

Yea, I know. Unfortunately it was gone the first year I went, I think some of the supports were still up, I am not sure. That was like 1994 I do believe, or maybe 96 because Hurler was new..... What would be really cool for before and after would be commercials....

You can still see one of the monorail supports from Vortex.

Where exactly is that monorail support? Do you maybe have a picture of it?

I will have to look for it... I hardly ever ride vortex just because its not my favorite of rides, its kinda boring to me lol. Some of the footers are still around to where it went out through the entrance way or whatever...

You really don't have to ride Vortex to see the footer. It's right next to the first drop, and is really the only slab of concrete in that area that doesn't have Vortex supports coming out of it. It's also old looking and half falling apart, so you can't miss it. All you have to do is just walk up to the fence and have a look-see.
