General Carowinds discussion

Another comment on this... You would be surprised how many guests don't even pull down the lap bar. It certainly slows us down too even though it's nothing on Nighthawk. Then when I come along to lock the restraint, they often get stapled, and I hear all sorts of grunts and screams. Pull your lap bar down next time.

If I had to choose between seating guests on NightHawk or listening to the Talladega Shuffle more than once a day... I would 100% with no further question take seating guests on NightHawk.

Intimidator's queue music is simply the most offensive-to-the-ears genre they could have ever put there. I get that it's themed after a famous hick but seriously the music is too much.

I've been suggesting this to GS for years but Carowinds needs more music in stations.

For example: Riddler's Revenge (SFMM) and MilF (CP) have fun techno-filled stations that amp you up as you're about to ride. The pulsing loud techno also has an ability to take my mind off the boring silence of standing in line.

When a ride has no theme (and let's be honest, Afterburn, Cobra, Intimidator, and Nighthawk have no themes at all) just crank the (general-public-friendly) techno in the line/station and have a party. It works for MilF and RR it should work on our rides as well!

The ride ops would be happier, the guests would be energized, and the Talladega shuffle could be sent back to the redneck bar that it came from.

Riddler's Revenge probably had the worst station I've ever been in in my life. Horrible layout, horrible music, and the night I was there they had the most obnoxious, whiny-voiced chick on the microphone that I've ever heard.

Other than that, music usually helps. Because when we're running one train, I have to resort to bad jokes and deadpanning to pass the time, and I eventually run out of material.

Skycoastin Steve wrote:^Having been up in the station during operation countless times this year, you can't hear the queue music up there. The greeter at the front can hear it, but anyone working in the station cannot. At least I never have.

I would kill a small animal to get some music in the Nighthawk station.

I've been able to hear it from grouping (on quiet, empty days) and back positions.

You guys should sue Carowinds or get workman's comp for having to listen to that **** while you work in the sun... I might just die. (joking obviously)

Now if they would crank some good music I think it would have a positive effect on guests and the crew.

Why is it that like 90percent of the time nighthawk only runs one train? It's a wonder why the line moves so slow. (being sarcastic)

And remember when afterburn used to be top gun, they used to play the whole soundtrack in the station. I am sure the crew got tired of the same soundtrack, but it's better than nothing. Also better than the crap in the intimidator line.

Other than last week, one train operation has been extremely rare on days when it wasn't raining. Just had a bad stretch of luck last week, I guess.
